Groves - Smith

George didn't take any sustained punishment last night, the finish was top drawer and the body shot was placed perfectly. If it wasn't for that body shot then he would have got up imo, but if I'm honest and as a George Groves fan I would like to see him vs Degale rematch depending on result a rubber match then see George retire. I don't want to see him carry on for too long and end up hurt.

 

Think Groves showed that he's still not learnt to just take a knee when he's hurt and take an 8 count to compose himself. Smith looked far too big for him last night though.

Groves is a very old 30 year old...When he got Cobra'd then slapped around by Badou Jack and i even felt he had a war with Chudinov then finally wins a belt and loses it almost straight away it must be hard to take....And hard to return from?...

It looked to me he spewed it v Smith ...If the hunger was there he would/could have got up and fought on but he had just had enough...

I dont think he will be back in a ring

 

I don't want to be critical of George but during the last onslaught by Smith he at one point looked across to the ref and when down shock his head at ref.

He was screaming blue murder when Froch stopped him whilst inflicting a lot more pain....He is done

Decent World level career nonetheless

 

Froch was definetly seconds away from stopping him in the 1st fight but i think he was in more pain against Smith.
