Confirmation of George Groves' opponent and a preview ahead of Friday's action in Sunderland: http://grovesvdegale.wordpress.com/...ight-jonkus-on-a-friday-night-for-the-future/ Cheers, Dave.
So much for this guy stepping up quickly. Take an undersized and over matched Paul Samuels out the picture and it's the usual line up of turds from Eastern Europe. Still a good prospect mind.
I was at ringside to see jonkus box Anthony Fitzgerald couple of weeks back. some useless info there.
What did he look like Doug? As far as I know, he used to be a kick boxer and has also done MMA in the past...
he was alright...looked tired between rounds on his stool...more like lying in the corner between rounds rather than sitting on the stool...he was busy enough.....fitzgerald had been stopped on last dunne bill and he seemed to be concentrating on a better defence...but it was a workout for fitzgerald more than anything...he tried to stop jonkus in the last {4th round}, but jonkus withstood it...jonkus took some good body shots if i remember right... mind you, its a bit patchy that memory
Haha, no worries! Hopefully George can put on a good show and get on Sky as I don't think they'll show all of the undercard fights after Booth-Hunter. Unless that fight ends early.
Hopefully his talent will get matched with decent opponents. Getting lads to fight him will be tough though, Maloney is not going to pay mega bucks to put all his top prospects in with gpood opposition.
i wonder, if it shows it on tv...will jonkus slump in the corner between rounds like he did in dublin...
A lot of fighters do that though Doug don't they? It's just a way of conserving as much energy as possible. If you watch George, he hangs his legs out and slumps too.
