Groves v Adamu - Who wins?

Is Groves better than Dilks? Case closed.

Groves, probably around 118-110.

I don't see why our leading amateurs, after doing really well in various tournaments, need to go back to playing with crayons at pro level.

These are the fights that ought to be made, rather than fighting rubbish opponents that would struggle to beat a pub drunk.

 

Groves, easily.

 

Why wouldn't he go after this fight? Dilks, a novice with a similar amount of talent as Groves has in his big toe should have got the decision. Dilks outboxed him all the way through, Adamu's timing was pathetic, his connect rate was even worse, he was sloppy, his punch technique was poor, his 'defence' was woeful. The only thing I can say about him is he throws punches and has a chin, he's kinda like a heavy bag with battery powered arms.

He must have been better at some point looking at the outcome with Froch, I never saw that fight but it seems clear to me he must be past it.

I worry for him signing with Maloney though..... I've lost all confidence in his ability to match people properly.

Warren would have been much better. Barring the debacles in their initial outings, Gavin and DeGale have both been in with respectable opposition. Neither probably as well as Groves has to date, Makhanov and Samuels especially..... but satisfactory thus far.

 

maloney won't be doing the matchmaking if hayemaker are still managing groves.

 

Adamu because Groves has fought no one yet and although he has looked impressive at times he still is not ready or tested at anywhere near that standard.

 

adamu is tough but groves is talented. if groves is a tough pro which he looks like he is then he'll decision adamu comfortably. great to see him stepping up rather than sitting around.
