Groves v Degale II - What Happens This Time?

The potential is there for this to happen sooner than people expect. Looking at the IBF rankings the route is there for Degale to work his way into a mandatory position in fairly short order. If George takes the belt from Froch in a rematch then this could well happen 12-15 months from now. That said, I think Degale's going the WBC route.

The key could be Degale's promotional status. If he can get away from fat Mick (which judging from his IFL interviews he's desperate to do) and join fast car then things could move very quickly.

 

Same as the 1st fight but with more power shots from Groves. Groves UD.

Or maybe DeGale puts more pressure on second time around and Groves has more confidence in his power so we get a real war as these two aren't fond of each other.

 

DeGale doesn't look to be improving at all. Nothing is changing other than he boxes a little more. However, that just makes him more boring.

In saying that, DeGale looks like he is fighting within himself and has a lot more to offer in terms of speed, heart, aggression and strategic application. He doesn't look like he is really getting out of gear and showing his best stuff. For this reason, despite looking the same old DeGale I think he could produce a similar surprise like Groves and shock a big name or top fighter.

 

I thought DeGale was unlucky in their fight. If they rematched I see another very close encounter, perhaps with James edging it this time.

The Froch fight maybe the making of Groves, and George might take his performances to another level. But remember it was a brutal bout, and for every Azumah Nelson rebound (from Sanchez), you can get fighters who never really recover from a devastating defeat (Taylor/ChavezI).

 

Pretty much this. Its funny how people forget that boxers fight differently and putting Froch and Degale in the same boat is laughable. I watched a bit of his fight with Groves again today and saw how defensively covered he was. It was quite a tactical fight and in no point was Degale in trouble, even when Groves was going for his shots. I would like to see them two fight again but a little further down the line of either of them get belts. Then a unification fight in the UK would be great.

 

Degale a huge talent......gone nowhere fighting in shopping centres.....criminal wasteatsch

 

They try and hit each other. One will be better at this than the other so will win on points or maybe knock the other guy out

I think a move to the states under a top trainer would do him good. Would he go to Adam Booth, or is that stretching it? He is a top talent.

 

Groves would win the rematch imo simply because he has been mixing in better company a large part of boxing is about momentum and activity.

Groves has boxed Glen Johnson and Froch in the last year Degale has been mixing with the likes of Dyah Davies, i believe Groves will improve even more after saturday

 

in my opinion it would be another scrappy points win for gg degale is awful to watch
