Groves has been fighting at a far higher level for world titles while Eubank has been fighting duds. There isn`t a single win on Eubanks record against a world class operator in his prime.

Periban drew with Badou Jack and got robbed against Sakio Bika.

He just rates Jr much higher than you do clearly

Exactly. He's ducked every decent fighter he's been matched against. A win over the twitching corpse of Abraham is his best win.

Groves is the king of 168, beating Groves would be a huge win

It only takes 1 win/loss and the past is forgotten.

Kell Brook fought a who's who of cab drivers and gets a win over Shawn Porter and suddenly he's on P4P lists.

I don't feel I have anything to rate Jr on. In my eyes, he has fought nobody of note other than BJS. Would you like me to speculate that he's our generation's SRR? Would that make you feel better?

If he beats Groves, which he is favourite at the bookies to do, then he will have have proved himself in my eyes. Not before.

Abraham was a far more accomplished fighter than Saunders, he had only lost 1 time in 5 years against the excellent Gilberto Ramirez. He had beaten a number of high calibre opponents too.

Yildirim had beaten a higher level of competition than Saunders as well.

The calibre of opponents he has been facing might not be up to your lofty standards but you can't argue with the way he has been beating them.

Who do you rate with those lofty standards?

Why do you think the bookies are so wrong? You might be right, but just because they favour Jr it doesn't lessen the ability of Groves.

Just because there are people expecting Jr to win, if it happens it doesn't mean its not a great win!

Personally I don't think Jr has a poor resume in comparison to many other fighters that are held in higher regard.

David Lemieux for example seems to be rated much higher here, but who is his best win?
Name his 5 best wins and name Jr's 5 best wins and I know who I would pick hands down.

For the reasons we have already discussed on this thread. Eubank is a MW who has fought nobody of note and who doesn't even have power at MW, let alone SMW.

He is now fighting a SMW with power who is proven at the highest levels.

I don't think Eubank should be favourite. I think if Eubank wins it would be a fantastic victory. I pick Groves to win. But in saying all that, I wouldn't bet money on it for the reason that I don't know what Eubank is capable of because I've never seen him fight anyone decent.

I think Eubank is going to get hammered with the jab and dropped at least once in the first half of the fight. Can he weather that ala Froch, only time will tell but I'm backing the Ginger Ninja to put a hurting on the careless CEJ and put him in a world of trouble.

Groves has a better more authoritative jab than BJS, can punch and is the bigger man. Eubank is out of his depth here IMO but I wouldn't be the most surprised if he did turn out to be better than I think he is at the minute. A little but not majorly.

Alot in factors need to be taken into consideration regarding the outcome.

CEJ has looked a beast of late but Groves is the first puncher he's fought. Groves has fought the better opposition, he himself looked a beast against Froch....very strong in that fight but I don't think he's improved since that fight.

Also I thought Groves looked flustered and out of sorts at times when pressured by Chudinov and Cox, if CEJ is the stronger man and Groves cannot hurt him it could be a short night.

Excellent fight. Picked Groves but something tells me CEJ may pull it off.

74% KO ratio suggests he has power, he has stopped 17 of his last 19 opponents

Groves and Jr have one common opponent and Jr stopped him and Groves didn't

On one hand you seem to be rating him having no chance and then on the other hand you seem to be fence sitting.

Sounds like you won't give him credit if he wins

This sudden hype around Eubank, I personally don't think it's deserved.

I'd like to say I follow boxing quite a bit but who on earth heard of Yildrim and that guy he got the IBO title from before they were in WBSS/Fought Eubank??

The Abraham win was decent but we all knew he would win easily, it was a perfect style match up for him

Yes he's looked good but the level of competition are miles from Groves.

Groves will outbox him very easy, but Eubank can outwork Groves on the other hand. That's what makes it close for me but I got Groves winning on points

Will you give Groves credit if Groves wins?

This is such an easy fight for groves. Bigger man, better jab by a million miles, bigger puncher, better footwork, greater ring iq, more big fight experience.
