Groves v Stieglitz will it happen ?

think magee would make sense for froch undercard.think fight with stieglitz will happen but no way over here i.e in terms of froch undercard or when groves headlines show in september.fight will tak eplace in germnay one hundred per cent if occurs.

Think groves wins the fight but not just case of winning fighting to beat him over there will have to be dominant as knockout against him with that chin unlikely and we know how bad judging over there is.

After seeing how weak Magee is to the body & George seems to be a strong body puncher, I'd expect Groves to stop him fairly early

 

Groves should take the fight. Didn't think Stieglitz was overly impressive despite the victory. Abraham just looked completely disinterested.

 

fair point but would be amazed if steiglitz team got outbid by eddie here.Plus im dubious of groves wbo rating now he has left allegedly who has such good relationship with wbo.If im not mistaken many fighters have left fw and gone down different route than wbo so i do wonder if he can hold onto number 1 rating with the fight being ordered to bids by wbo.

Hope it comes off as huge groves fan and go to most his fights just not sure it will.

Afraid,although I like Magee,that I agree with this.This doesn't mean anything,but all his opponents so far have been downward steps from James Degale.Feel Magee may be past his best and has been a bit of a gatekeeper for a while now.Stevenson would be really good,if he wasn't moving up,as George looked really good last night and its time to step it up.Get the feeling the Germans won't want to come here,though.

 

Would be dumb... A World Champion movin to UK in order to fight a guy like Groves? Who is not a Champion?

I think Magee vs Johnson would be a good fight.

I also think Groves vs Magee is credible at this stage.

 

If Groves isnt ready how has he got this mandatory position?

He should take the fight as soon as it is offered. Holding out for purse bids wouldnt be a bad idea either.

 

Ordinarily Eddie takes his fighter's the IBF route but i couldn't see Groves been competitive against either Froch or Kessler on the evidence of what we have seen so far. He needs to be put in with a guy in May who people think "Yeah this guy could beat Groves " Magee would be a good fight.

 

Stevenson would be a terrible match up for Groves. Stevenson is a beast, a hard hitter and throws big shots to the body. Groves isn't built for that type of fighter, DeGale was backing George with the shots he was landing, Stevenson would break Groves down. IMO Groves is more talented, but this is a fight he doesn't need, nor Froch for that matter, high risk low reward for Carl.

Anyway, looks like Stevenson is off the radar now fighting Dawson at LHW.

Magee would be a great opponent for George though.
