These 2 fights in my opinion were very similar. Both could be and should've been called a draw but somehow they were rules in favour of one of the boxers. I believe the unfair Groves loss was a set back on DeGale's career. Although he managed to come back, he lost at least a year or two. Imagine him having a clean record at this point, he'd be called the British Ward and have all the opportunities ahead of him. Do you think the (again unfair) loss to Saunders will do a similar damage to Eubank Jr's career and future legacy? What should he do to avoid this setback since a fight with GGG or Cotto appears unlikely and Andy Lee will be scheduled for Saunders, who should he be fighting next for the shortest way to a major belt shot later this or early next year? Thoughts please

he has a point Both were closes losses that could have gone either way the loser then went on to win a tough 12 round decision Groves went onto fight top level jorneymen before falling to Froch Saunders may very well lose to the top middleweights also
Certainly both very close fights which could have quite easily have been scored draws. Time will tell if the defeat has a detrimental effect on Eubank Jr's career but has bounced back with an impressive win against Chudinov. I would say at this stage he is possibly 1-2 fights behind Saunders and wouldn't be surprised to see him challenge and win a genuine version of the world title in the next 12 months. De Gale's career certainly took a side step after the Groves fight but think there was other factors involved including De Gales popularity with the fans (at the time 2011-2012 was questionable?) and possible promotional issues. De Gale certainly looks a classy fighter these days and would like to see him win the title in his next fight.
I felt both results were correct and although I agree with what you are saying about a loss, dont completely agree. Degale after the loss won the European title in his next fight against a good opponent and Eubank won an int title in his next fight against a good opponent, so I dont think time was lost in this case. In both of those fights we had 2 prospects with undefeated records fighting and at the end of both of those fights were still left with 2 prospects who both looked like they could go on
The Groves loss wasn't 'unfair' to Degale. It was a close fight, but for me Groves did edge it and was the deserved victor. Both fighters deserve credit for taking the fight so early on in there careers.
Intersting thread, degale is he gets beat by Dirrell wil be in a poor enough position and Groves could be earning big money if he gets by Anthony, could fight Ward. Eubank seems to be handling the defeat well and bounced back like Degale, the win for both would have put them in a better position but both could still overtake the winner, with Eubank a fairly quick turnaround. I think Eubank should go for someone like Soliman next and get up them rankings and try and get cotto before he retires
