How would this have played out?

Groves fought everyone of his time except Kessler (I think he lays Kessler out if sparring was anything to go by) and Ward (not many beat Andre @ SMW).

Eubank Snr ducked many legit challengers and champs of his era.

How do you see this playing out? I don't think it's the walk in the park many do for Snr.

The Groves that showed up for the first Froch fight would have gave most except Ward & RJJ fits @ SMW.

I would give groves a good shout against Snr.

It is a different era and lets face it, Snr was a very good domestic world champ, I could see groves out slugging him in a messy 12rd brawl and getting a decision ala Collins.

Snr would have too much for him and grind him down late.

no way is groves stopping Sr, i could see him winning on points as i always thought senior wasnt busy enough in fights. but if benn doesnt stop him groves dont stop him

I still see Benn and eubank a level above groves and even froch tbh. Its just that their was better opponents around back then. Groves and froch made waves at world level. But the world level now is a clear level below the world level back then. The super middle division was the top weight for a time back then. The depth of the division was also greater. Also watched Benn v eubank etc...its a good level above either froch v groves in terms of skill. Workrate. Pace etc. I have senior beating groves...just too strong for him overall.

Senior would stop him late. He hits harder than Froch and has a better chin and Groves will not have the desire to stay in for the full 12.

Senior Vs Froch is a worthy match up.

Huge gap in class. Back then the top 40 were all awesome talents and of a much higher toughness in general. Groves doesn't have enough about him, he gets hit a lot and isn't fluid.

Eubank Snr in his pomp would have beat Groves all day long though I expect Groves to beat Jnr.

The WBO belt Snr held at the time was about as credible as the IBO belt his son currently holds.
