I agree that if people think a jab and good feet is all it takes to beat Jr than Groves should batter him.

However size isn't a good excuse, and you will not see me complaining that Groves was simply too big.

If Groves is trying to use his size and strength to beat Jr tbh he must be playing right in to Jr's hands, so how can it be an excuse.

I do not believe for a second Groves and Shane are planning to make this a brawl, no chance, Groves might have to fight at times and he will but it will (or should be) be all about controlling Jr with a jab.

Discipline and patience shouldn't be ignored and that sometimes comes with experience and Groves has plenty (good and bad) Groves has to wait for Jr, counter punch and ignore the crowds calls for a brawl.

Groves needs to keep using the jab, use angles and his feet, score points and make Jr have to reset himself over and over again, let Jr pose and fool around because he will and when Jr does let his hands go then throwing huge straight right hand counters to head or body.

The size may well be a factor up close, if Jr gets close and tries to bully Groves then Groves ties him up, Jr will have to do a lot of work to move Groves around and that helps Groves if it goes long, the more taken out of Jr the better.

Groves needs to worry about his own stamina rather then think about trying to tire Jr out IMO.

Groves needs to create distance with as little physicality as possible. Less clinching the better for Groves, it will just wear his arms out. Jr has excellent recovery powers, he trains with a high intensity, and short bursts just the way he fights in the ring. Froch and Spike both reckon Jr is a strong bloke for his size, so I don't really expect Groves to out muscle him any way.

If Groves can dictate the pace then he wins, if he can hurt Jr early then half the battle may be won.

Groves points. I just think it's too early for Eubank.

Should we really believe GG is naive enough to believe in his size advantage? I hope I'm not giving him too much credit but I think this is a ruse and he is instead planning to move a lot behind his jab and counters

I'm going to quote Sr on my thoughts on this fight.

    Groves is underrated IMO.
The more I watch of these two the more I lean towards GG.

If Eubank can take his power which is an unknown factor in this fight, he can get a British ref stoppage on one of his 20 punch combos.

However I think he will get caught on the way in by GG, and he does hit ****ing hard. Mid round stoppage by GG for me, but I don't think Eubank gets sparked, I think the ref waves it off after multiple KDs

I watched the documentary on them last night, and groves makes a lot of sense! Jr loads up too much and groves will be able to catch him all day long! The only way eubank can pull this off is if he somehow can take all of groves best shots and still keep coming until groves gasses

I’ll be very surprised if that happens though

Groves wins via stoppage and after the fight team Eubank will cry that it was premature and he was fine to carry on

    Agreed.
The way his jab made Froch's head snap back it looked like the cobra had got hit by a cross. With focus, movement and behind a stiff jab and potentially devastating cross GG will take this. All a battle of wills and focus and here I don't think Cejr will be able to hold it together against a bigger and harder and more precisely hitting version of bjs. Groves is gonna force cejr to go wild.

So hard to call. The closer it gets the more I am leaning towards Groves.

I think his power may be the difference. If Eubank can take it no problem he wins the fight.

CEJ is a tough SOB but Groves is far bigger and can hurt anyone.

This was one of the factor s which led me to pick jnr.
Groves has beenbwith shane long enough tho now and if theres a trainer that can improve gg stamina its shane.
I know genetics pkay a part in stamina but i do believe gg can be increased with a solid stamina building prigramme.
Saying that, im still picking jnr to win
