I agree with this. BJS is better technically than Groves, particularly defensively, and he’s faster. Groves hits an awful lot harder though and he does make his opponent miss and counters really well. To think that was a BJS off the back of a six week training camp, were the majority was spent taking the weight off him, he did really well to win that fight.

saunders is a very underated fighter, especially here on the british forum. i think he puts people off, but he really is the goods. and once he beats lemmy, his resume will be one of the best of the current british fighters. top 3.

I have been seeing comments from some people who seem to be reading a lot into the press conference regarding the way that Groves reacted to the exchanges with Eubank Jr.
    It means nothing.
Groves has never been great at this type of stuff. In the build-up to the DeGale fight when DeGale and his trainer Jim McDonnell insulted him at every turn with childish remarks Groves often looked uncomfortable.
This was also the case in the build-up to the Froch fight.
Groves tries to give to much detail in his answers and has no real snappy replies or put downs.
On fight night when Groves is jabbing the face off Eubank Jr and showing him what it is like to fight someone who is a level above him the smart arsed comments from Eubank Jr and his dad will come back to haunt them.

Of course he has because he has been fighting at world level for years.Eubank jnr has been fighting about 2 levels below Groves so we have no idea how he will cope with the huge step up in class he faces against a fighter who as you say has done the miles and has lots more experience.

That isn't technically true, Groves started as the slight bookies favourite and Jr has been backed into favouritism.
I think Jr's fans liked his odds @ better than 2/1,

TBH I think most of the Groves fans are waiting for the odds to drop a bit more and will lump up big near fight night. I won't be surprised to see Groves as the bookies favourite on fight night.

All in all Groves has the best jab in the game, monster power, excellent speed and tremendous foot work.
I am not surprised he is the favourite here, in fact I am surprised its close!!!

However I believe its Young Christophers time and this will be his first step up to p4p stardom!!!

Jr will be P4P king by 2020

When you look at the current P4P list, you see an abundance of boxing skill. Every single one of them have a superb jab, great footwork, movement and exceptional judgement of distance. I’d currently have Junior at a 5 maybe 6 out of 10 for these aspects of boxing, and I believe these hold him back.

Jnr has an awful jab. Wasn't that due to an elbow injury ?

Think that affects his straight right hand more than the jab.

So you agree. I don't dispute anything else you said. This is a prediction thread. None of us "know" what will happen... Eubank UD.

Nobody is perfect and I think you might be overrating some of these kids and underrating Jr tbh

Jr does have average footwork but.....
    His Jab is very underrated
He is extremely athletic, he has quick feet and moves very well he is just awkward and at times looks ungainly

Being awkward is sometimes an advantage!!!

I don't think many in the top 10 p4p have better head movement than Jr, some quite clearly have much worse!!
Some of these top 10ers have slow feet but technically good footwork, actually some are so slow they get accused of having stone feet.

Jr throws a lot of leather, much more than your average. Sometimes its quantity over quality but it works for him.

Jnr for some reason doesn't extend his arm fully with his jab. I assumed this was due to injury.

If its not it's just poor technique and limiting the distance and whip he can produce

Noticed this predominantly in his last fight against Yildirim, looked like it was very weak, yes he throwed it in doubles and triples but there was no variety or power on it.

Always admired your passion and belief in the lad. You might be proven right in the long run with his success. I do believe he does some things exceptionally well, and I acknowledge that he has improved in various aspects. However, I don’t believe he would beat BJS whom has to be his marker for improvement. Has he developed lots since that defeat or has he been matched against more static fighters...I do believe he will won a world title, so I do rate him, but it will have to be for a vacant belt or a fighter who suits his frenetic work rate.
