According to reports online, this is about to be announced.

Good move for Groves, IMO. Anything is an improvement on his last trainer.

As a groves fan this is very good news in my opinion. Should suit george perfectly

I think George training George would be ideal for him, he clearly likes to dictate to trainers, you cant do that.

Barry's son seems very quickly to have gone from zero to hero !! If Frampton beats Quigg and Haye gets off to a wining start I can see the Cyclone machine being the next Brendon Ingle camp of my day

Same way Booth got his fighters, McGuigan is now getting his. When you get one to a decent level, everyone wants to get on the gravy train. Let's see what the fighters decide when they lose.

Is McGuigan a case of style over substance?
Is he actually a good trainer or has Frampton made him?
He's always struck me as a strength and conditioning coach with a bit of ego.

Most of Brendan's fighters first laced on a glove with him as little kids.

Ive even hear Freddie Roach say he's lucky himself to have good fighters to work with.

Even if Shane McGuigan only manages to get Groves into better shape, then imo thats more than the other trainers have acheived with him, because at this stage of Groves life i dont see him needing to be thought on how to throw a punch, more tactics and conditoning.

His conditioning is fine, he just needs to be taught how to reign in the punches and not waste energy.

I agree with that to. He throws far too many punches, particularly power punches.

His punch stats for the Badou Jack fight were unreal for a Super Middle. And as you say a lot of them are power punches.

"Punches in Bunches" he needs :D
