My initial reaction to the Kovalev - Ward decision mirrored many as I felt Kov was the clear winner. Also S.O.G.s post fight comments regarding his opponent, retirement, fans criticism( so called haters ) and even Mayweather apparently wasn't allowed an opinion really turned me against him.

However it has to be considered that:

    A. Ward went to 175 head hunting the man of the division

    B. Got dropped heavily early on and got up and did not run the rest of the fight

    C. When he can't win boxing, he will fight . ( criticised as dirty, but i thinks shows will-to-win )

    D. The rematch WILL happen next, I initially was angered by Wards tactics and felt it
dishonourable that he was lukewarm on the rematch even though there was the clause but now I realise that a champion of his calibre with his pedigree and resume has the right to as much $$$$ as he can get

I wish more boxers had the fortitude of Andre S.O.G. Ward

That being said, Ward - Kovalev 2 will be Kovalev UD for my dough

Maybe the experiences of conquering other top 175's could equip Andre to defeat Kov in a rubber mega fight down the road

Encouraging that Ward has been dismissive of a Stevenson match up. As sick as I'm sure most are of the WBC LHW championship being held hostage, Andre has more pressing business and Adonis would be handled with complete ease
to the point where I think Ward has more chance to stop Adonis than the opposite, although wide UD would be most likely

P.S. in a for real ROYAL RUMBLE featuring the P4P top 30 my moneys on S.O.G. :cheer:
