Promoters who 'promote' by disparaging rival promoters fighters, similar to TV Networks that only talk about the boxers they show as opposed to boxing.

Fans who follow/dislike a fighter based purely around their ethnicity or nationality.

Ludicrous rankings.

Ridiculous decisions.

UFC, MMA, WWF, BBQ etc.

People who moan about the greatest sport in the world.

I think that this thread has proven that most people's problems and gripes with boxing aren't the sport itself, the chagrin is pretty much directed toward the leeches who seem intent on ruining the sport: the sanctioning bodies and, as Ishy pointed out, the 'boxing is dying brigade'. Boxing has been, and will continue to be, a sport that is both taken up by phenomneal individuals, and enjoyed by people in awe of the courage, dedication and sheer will to win of the special people who perform inside the ropes.

A bloke who is on the shift after ours came into work a few weeks ago when an ITV card was on. He sat there and said how he hated boxing, two grown men slapping each other :yikes - For me Its within a mans heart to want to watch and/or be involved in epic battles IMO and nothing can create the kind of excitement, respect and awe that a decent fight evokes

I nearly sucker punched the back of his head. He then sat there watching the whole fight vividly the tosspot.

And he comes into work all the time with tracksuit tops on showcasing the trampolining and horse riding clubs he's involved in.
