Proksa had a tuneup fight on February 9 in order to prepare for a bigger bout in New York on March 29 2013. It Is on youtube. Osumana Adama was rumored for some time to be the next opponent - this would in my opinion have been a great matchup. Unfortunately Proksa busted his hand in the last part of the fight against Szekeres and will have to pass on the March bout.

Norbert Szekeres is a pretty hopeless fighter. Slow, no reach, no power, no nothing. He was only there to give Proksa a spoonful of confidence and to show off some new skills.

Proksa has indeed tried to learn some new tricks since the mauling Golovkin gave him. The pace is less frantic, he aims to last more rounds. He seems to think a bit more and use more combinations. This is an improvement as he has resorted to one-shot potshotting in the past. It will be especially interesting to see if he can really use the walk-forward-while-switching-stance attack which can really back his opponent up. He used it on some occasions: right jab, jab, left straight, left foot forward, left jab, right straight. Learn to do that and proksa is on HBO again.

Also there was the explosive round finish that he tried a few times. Two seconds before the bell he would try to make a all-out shot, usually a left-hook, trying to catch his opponent as concentration slips right before the bell. He almost got Szekeres on one occasion, but lack of accuracy prevented the KO.

And that is where Proksa still can improve by miles. Accuracy and concentration. Against better opponents he can not afford to miss the target by a foot! And concentration - look at his former opponent Golovkin - he never takes his eyes off his opponent, he hardly even blinks!

...and why Proksa is fighting at middleweight is still a mystery to me. He is smaller than all his opponents. Drop to junior middleweight or gain 10 pounds of hard muscle!:bbb
