Those were brutal knees Serra said it was stopped to early but those could have done serious damage. It's good to see someone finally finish Serra he was only finished once in his career before. I hope this sets up a Hughes- Serra matchup

It would have been pointless to let the fight go on any longer. It doesn't surprise me Serra said that, but I imagine even he was glad Lavigne stepped in.

I think Hughes-Serra is inevitable. Those two absolutely have to fight considering the bad blood between them. Let's hope it happens soon.

I hope so, Hughes hasn't said much because he was waiting the result of this fight but now I hope they make it happen. Hughes has even been talking about going up in weight because obviously he doesn't need another GSP beating. At 170 Serra is the only fight for him really Although I wouldn't mind seeing Kos-Hughes but it's pointless for Hughes at this point of his career to waste time in this division.

Those are serious knees but am I right by seeing he only got Serra three times?

I actually watched the fight live on PPV and thought that although the stoppage was legit, it was because Serra was not fighting back. Not because GSP caused fight-stopping damage.

I think it'll be a competetive fight. If this was 2-3 yrs ago, it'ld be a different story.

I agree. Those knees were brutal. If the UFC rules permitted knees to the head of an opponent on the ground, GSP would have stopped the fight long before the ref made his way in-between them. Serra was not intelligently defending himself beyond simply covering up. The longer that fight went - the worse it was going to get for Serra. Matt Serra is too small for this division. Not to mention, St.Pierre pwns him as a mixed martial artist. For Serra, greener pastures lay in the divisions below.
