GSP marks up easy as ****. Anderson has skin made of leather. GSP probably would have looked like he had been to hell and back if it had been him inside the cage with Sonnen in the SECOND Silva fight.
Possibly, but I've seen him leave the cage with even less damage. But, this is nothing to me though, at least some of us agree that Anderson Silva is the most talented MMA ever. This back and forth just proves that a poster like stoo has major hangups about the way he ranks fighters.
Condit is perhaps the biggest stylistic nightmare for GSP in the WW division, and he still dominated 90% of the fight. I think there are strong arguments for both guys. It just depends on what you are looking for.
It's really about one fighter engaging more than the other, but I'm exhausted and full of food. I put my sword down a long time ago. At least we are back on topic :!: For the second time today I will do my absolute best to leave the floor open to others.
For people who claim that Silva's Middleweight era has lacked decent challengers, why can't the same be said for Fedor's Heavyweight Division? Until Cain and JDS came along, the Heavyweights have been a consistently weak division.
The UFC division maybe, Fedor ruled a stacked Pride HW division and has 3 wins over the 2nd and 3rd best HW's ever with one of them arguably being the second best p4p fighter aswell.
But, his career is over, and we can't ignore the 3 stoppage losses glossed over with 3 cans. Like I said The Game Don't Wait, and a lot has gone down since Pride died. Those big wins were years before his time in SF. SF didn't have the talent The UFC had, our man Fedor just flamed out. He had a career after Pride too is all I'm saying, so did Anderson Silva. But, more importantly Fedor's career is over and we can look at the big picture. Just tired of people going on about Pride and ignoring how his career played out. Not only is he missing top Contenders from this era, he was finished by them. Many have said themselves that Anderson Silva is the most talented, and I believe that's why he is still successful today.
Time will tell, let's see if Brown Pride can put some distance between him and JDS. Today's HW roster is as stacked as Pride's was anyway. Top Contenders, new faces, but different era. As is The UFC MW division (even more so now). Having a CC or Big Nog in your class is no reason why one should rank above another Great fighter that was as equally dominant. We can't hold it against Anderson Silva for having one true rival, one competitive fight during his reign. CC, Big Nog came to The UFC, fought the next generation of fighters and won as much as they lost. Please don't use being passed your prime as an excuse, for anything. They won some and lost some. They are right about the same age as Anderson Silva. End of story. RJJ is passed his prime too, but even fans in The General don't use that as an excuse to place him atop a list. Be a man, let them be a man and hold them accountable for every time they stepped inside a ring (or cage). While we're on beating CC and Big Nog should count for something.... I know Fedor did it more than once, but Brown Pride did it in seconds. Both CC and Nog went on to win (finish opponents) after losing to the #1 and #2 HWs in the World so we can't ignore these wins. Give some credit for punching out Big Nog and making CC give up.
Not many would label CropCop as an 'iron clad' #3. But take a look at Nogueira's resume. Coleman, Filipovic, Herring were all in form and were beaten by him before Fedor got his hands on them. The following are wins he has that even Fedor doesn't have. Kharitonov, Barnett, Werdum, Rodriguez.:deal The man beat every hw available to him bar the GOAT. His resume is stacked, and resume is THE most important factor.
