I think he'd beat Silva even with Silva's size advantage. Silva fights very defensive so providing GSP doesn't trade ala Griffin and works Silva like Sonnen did he would win simply because he is a far suprior wrestler.

I know originally GSP wanted none of Silva because of the size difference but since the Sonnen fight his opinion has changed. I'm sure he'd win providing he did nothing stupid and got caught with a shot.

    You heard it here first.

P.S. He is P4P the greatest MMA fighter right now. Silence nuthuggers!!!

Silva's weakness is his takedown defense. But I imagine it isn't easy dominating him on his back for 5 consecutive rds unless you're on PEDs, you're a superb wrestler, and he's fighting with an injury. We'll see though. Can't wait for this mega fight to happen.

I like to think Silva is a more rounded fighter and that superior wrestling alone isn't going to cut it against him. But I've been wrong before. And really, even if one has a huge advantage over the other the fight still has to happen. They've both pretty much have cleaned out their respective division.

i dont know about a GSP win over Silva. personally if the size issue wasnt present then yes for sure i feel GSP would be able to handle Silva. However here is the problem that i see as it stands. GSP dispite his awesome ground game has never been up against someone that BESTED him in the STRIKING department. Therefore GSP has never been in a position before (only because he is so good lol) whereby he needs to take the fight to the GROUND because he is LOOSING the fight standing up. He takes the fight to the GROUND when the opportunity presents itself without ever over forcing it and thus not because he is soaking up undue punishment from standing. Silva is the potential opponent that due to reach, skill, speed etc could make GSP need to get the fight to the ground. I think this creates a NEW CHALLENGE that GSP hasnt ever had to deal with before. Personally i would love GSP to win and i dont right him off, not even close. I just wouldnt want to bet alot of money on it thats all.

GSP might be able to win a 3 round fight but no way he controls silva for a full 25 minutes without getting caught with a strike or submission

I'd rather see GSP vs Sonnen to be honest

    sonnen's already tainted his career.
considering his skill, i don't understand how he lost perspective of things...

now his entire career is tainted

Anderson " The Spider " Silva will beat GSP and be granted the title of

    The G.O.A.T fighter. Above Fedor.

Silva will decimate GSP. Saying that I'm really rooting for GSP if he gets through Shields and the fight happens :deal

For me personally it would take a little more than him beating a guy coming up from welterweight to surpass Fedor, but if he beat GSP and could manage to win the lightheavy title from either Jones or Shogun, I'd concede that extremely special title to him.

Its too close to call, the weight advantage swings me in silvas favour, if GSP was fighting in the higher weight i would favour him.

Could , should , would ... lets see this happen. I am not a big fan of the fight as I feel Anderson has the advantage due to size but it will be nice for him to beat on GSP just to silence the critics. Class is not a fighting attribute nor does it have any bearing on final result when the cage is closed.

GSP has a better ground game than silva but silva hasnt spent so much time on the ground in his career but the sonnen fight is an exception cuz he was fighting with an injury and a opponent on roids.
Silva has an awesome stand up and the way he handled belfort made me even more amazed
