The thing is... the odds are what they are for a reason: because in the long-run, if you keep betting the same amount on "dead-cert" favourites, you don't make or lose money. Take five fights at random that have the favourite fairly priced at 1.2 and one of those will very likely have him lose/get robbed/draw/NC, etc.... ...this is no way to make money... ...Khan straight win certainly wasn't a guarantee.... ...if it had been close to a "guarantee", the odds would have been more like 1.01, not 1.2. The way to make money is to: 1. bet on the guy you think will win 2. only bet on him if he is the underdog and if the odds are fairly good (1.4, at the very least, for the straight win) 3. hedge your bet and if you can't make money by hedging your bet, don't bet Also, only bet if you pick winners at least 80% of the time, only bet what you can afford to lose and never bet more than 10% of your total betting money. (my £0.02)
Mate, the only intelligent bets of the weekend were Katsidis to win (2.5 at Ladbrokes) and Katsidis by stoppage hedged with Mitchell to win.
