You don't know what you're talking about with this one.

Gavin McMillian's approach is NOTHING like Crossfit.

    AT all.

Look it up yourself. Sportsciencelaboratory is what I believe his company is called.

Let me tell you something that small pecho and STD is gonna realize one day.

I used to be the guy deadlifting all that heavy ass weight, squatting, power cleaning, and the old school dudes would always tell me...

Hey man, you don't need to be lifting all that weight.

And these were former athletes. Dudes that have been doing that for years.

But I was still like, "F uck that bull****. What the f uck do they know. They don't know ****. Mother f uckers are just jealous."

Be wary when you see that mentality. Those are the suckers.

Let me tell you, this generation did not INVENT the mother f uckin deadlift. **** has been around for years.

Same with squats and powercleans all that that bull****.

But mother f uckers know if you do it long enough, slight changes in form...like when you tired and your work out can have detrimental effects on your joints and ligaments overtime.

Because just that slight out of kilter can put your whole body outta kilter throughout time and cause imbalances that are almost impercievable until it's too late.

I'm telling you, strength is a neurological function.

Use your MIND to get stronger.

Do one arm pushups, using your MIND to create tension.

Do one legged squats, using your MIND to create tension.

You have to work on your mind, body, control. Yes, it helps to change leverage, but you don't need to squat 400 to 500 lbs and compress your spine overtime.

Lose more and more flexibility. Grind your joints down.

F uck that young folks, f uck that. Be smart.

Does Bernard Hopkins lift all that heavy ass weight?

    Ask yourself that.

Cossfit is utter bull**** and is not for athletes.

Hey I have an idea...let's make a list of every exercise known to man, mix them up in a hat, pull out 5-10 of them and turn em into a circuit workout with an arbitrary number of sets and reps for every single person who does crossfit to do as fast as possible with whatever weight they choose.

It's about the dumbest thing a serious athlete can do. For the average person who is already in shape, or even for military folks, sure. Guerrero is even more of a douche now imo.

    Good vid op.

Not a big fan of crossfit, they seem to be too "poppy" and their sport has no real direction, but I admire the overall fitness. Watched some of the comp vids and always wondered how a pro mma/boxer would do in those comps seeing as the 10 fitness areas they target are required in both sports.

The S&C smoke screen is at it again. It's like swimming coaches descending upon the family of someone who has just drowned while stuck in their car to explain how they weren't good enough swimmers.

Why would pro athletes give a **** about how they're going to feel when they're 60?

Would you rather have a great sports career and have some aching joints when you're older, or would you rather live a nice, "healthy" life, but never be nearly strong enough or powerful enough to be a pro athlete??

And yes, Bernard Hopkins has been lifting for years.

Also no one is taking about lifting" heavy ass weight", we're talking about having proper S+C training.

Not some old guy telling you to jog 7 miles a day, and chase chickens.(exagerattion I know, but you get the point)

You saw how Marquez used to train, throwing random rocks around mountains and drinking ****..
Way too many fighters are stuck in the dark ages when it comes to conditioning, like Cottos new coach said. Algieri said it to in the build up to his Provo fight too.

If you watch the initial video, it would appear that Robert Guererro, a top level, professional athlete had never undergone a strength program in his life and had simply been trained by his father, who knows nothing about conditioning.

Hes become a fine fighter due to dedication to skills and technique, but he could have all that AND be a better athlete.

Stick to your pink kettlebels *****. :hi:
Nobody said crossfit is good, some of the things they do is moronic.
We are having a smart discussion here. Since you are a low IQ homophobic moron who doesnt have basic information about training i suggest you go and read something so you can educate yourself.

See, there you go right there.

Like I said. I choose not to lift heavy ass weights anymore and seek alternative measures that can get you just as strong, PLENTY strong for the sport of boxing and reduce the risk of injury and chronic pain, and I get called a *****.

I used to have the same attitude when I was lifting those heavy ass weights and thought everyone was just hatin.

Despite the fact that some of the people "hatin" were former collegiate athletes. I mean, some of the dudes were as big as mother f uckin gorrillas.

I can tell you right now with 100% that small pecho ain't an athlete or a gorilla.

He's just a hateful man that assumes his way is the only way. If that was the case, guys like Gavin MacMillan wouldn't exist.

That's a guy that uses alternative training measures.

    Go where? :-(

    Bull****, bull**** and more bull****.
Your every other post is a something homo***ual, or someone getting gang banged in the ass. What do you expect?

I dont believe this one second because you are spewing **** that doesnt :
    a) make sense whatsoever
    b) are proven to be bull****

I am a former amateur boxer so yes i was an athlete and no im not a gorilla, im a human.

My way is to incorporate everthying in training. I love weights, kettlebels, bodyweight training, training with elastics, cycling, swimming etc etc. I told you that 100 times and dont know why you cant grasp it. Maybe you are a weakling:think?
I knew Gavin MacMillan before you even heard of him. He was S&C coach for George St. Pierre and guess what hendo/roach/tj max or whatever the hell you want ot be called he was using olypmic style weightlifting with him. Check out George st.Pierre Primetime series.

But boxing is not college football.

Regardless, guys like Julius Peppers, Troy Polamalu, Bob Sanders, Terrell Owens and Chad Ocho Cinco take alternative approaches to lifting maximal weight.

To be honest, I don't think any of them lift weight in the traditional sense that small pecho is advocating.

They must be "weak" though according to small pecho.

The difference is, small pecho is not an ATHLETE.

Go to Gain MacMillan's site for yourself and show me where he advocates the same type of lifts.

He's obviously grown as a strength and conditioning coach.

Please show me on his site, sportssciencelaboratory where he condones those lifts.

Just show me. Put up or shut up, small pecho.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZfuqRA_iAc Ruben Guerrero is a damn joke and he got the nerve to say "Who is Keith Thurman?" asked people in the Gym if he was a country singer. Ruben's son knows who Thurman is and ducked him.
