Guerrero Makes Dumbest Decision Of All Time

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by mikeweavertime, Mar 28, 2013.

  1. 1. He don't want to fight and needs a reason, to defend his reputation .. so he could say: " I was in jail, I couldn't fight".

    2. Someone don't want that Guerrero fights .. he didn't even know about a gun.

    3. He wants to be a tough guy in front of Mayweather like "I am a G, yo".

Personally I think it was just a publicity stunt to get more attention for the fight

Guerrero hasnt fought a single top welterweight but due to the WeBeCrooked world championship he is somehow mandatory.

Guerreros 2 fights at WW were an unknown Aydin and Berto coming off a 15 month layoff after testing positive for PEDs

Before that Guerrero went the distance at 135 with :

Michael Katsidis - Was TKO'd previously by Juan Manuel Marquez
Vicente Escobedo - TKOd at 130 by Broner and Cherry
Joel Casamayor - TKO'd by Marquez 2 years prior (Joel Knocked Guerrero down)

Mayweather on the other hand has fought top tier opposition since his comeback in Marquez, Mosley, Ortiz and Cotto from 147-154 and is using this fight purely as a tuneup as opposed to taking another year layoff as he is accustomed to doing by signing a 6 fight deal with Showtime.

Guerrero also has a little fan base, first it was Mayweather claiming to fight Alexander instead to gather interest and now Guerrero goes into a New York airport . . . . with a gun. He was released after knowing fully well he would not get any serious consequences as the gun was not loaded and he did declare it

I find it hilarious so many people fell for this

if this was a publicity stunt, it was poorly thought out. he did it in one of the worst states you could do it. he simply ****ed up. and its a serious offense. they will take into account he isnt no criminal, but its gonna cost him alot of money and maybe a month in jail if hes lucky

you wouldnt think so, nor should he. but these laws are ****ed up and he better get a decent attorney. Ignorance of the law comes into play. I dont think he will either, but he is gonna pay alot of money in fines and attorneys

Whats a fine compared to the money he will gain from the fights publicity?

I remember Hopkins being fined over the Winky Wright fiasco, did he give a ****?

Im not really fully aware of the American justice system and its policy on guns (Im from the UK, where Guns are illegal) but considering he declared an unloaded weapon before he boarded along with being compliant with the authorities at hand.

At most hell probably get a fine and a slap on the wrist, 9/11 happened well over a decade ago now and was not caused (at least not directly) by an American Citizen which im sure Guerrero is, he had no intent to use the weapon on board and it was licensed, going by logic I think its safe to say all this was premeditated

i see what you are saying, but this is a giant NO NO, its one of the stupidest things you can do , carry a gun to an airport, especially in NYC. Zero tolerance with gun control laws. they locked up a star NFL player for having a concealed weapon in a night club, even though it accidentally went off while it was strapped to him, being that it discharged in a public place as well as him not supposed to bring one in, they gave him 18 months JAIL time. it was a pure accident, wasnt pointing it, nor was he fighting with anyone, it simply went off and thats what he got...and he was a huge celeb in NYC

the difference is guerrero didn't have his gun loaded, didn't fire obviously. he also didn't get busted, he turned it in thinking he was doing the right thing.

what plaxico did was stupid in that he could have killed someone having his gun go off, even if it was an accident. there was no one way anyone could have gotten hurt by they way guerrero handled his situation.

    i agree.
but if it was that simple, he wouldn't have 4 felonies against him.
i think its bull****, but im just telling you what has happened from other people who have done the same thing, by accident and told them he had it.
he would have been better off going outside and throwing it in a trash can .....honesty doesnt pay

What are these 4 felonies out of interest?

Im assuming 2 of them are carrying a concealed weapon and trying to board a plane with said weapon . . . . . not sure if its a felony to have a registered weapon if its not registered in the state he was arrested in

Its either they made this to sell the fight or an excuse not to make the fight because it does not make them money. PBF's purse is just too high, the other stakeholders need money too

He WILL be convicted. Him not knowing the law isn't going to save him. You can have a driver's license from another state, and legally drive in another, but it doesn't work that way with a gun license. He is in some deep ****. I just hope this doesn't **** up the FMJ fight...I find it incredible that someone didn't whisper in his ear..."be careful in New York, man. They have some crazy gun laws." :-(
