well reports and news that pacman always gets owned in sparring by certain boxers would give credence to roach's statement that pac doesn't go all-out in sparring and gives only around 50 to 60% of his capacity.
Guerrero schooled pac in sparring... ... and he also hits harder than Pacquiao. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b894ZVjEciE[/ame]
If you can take Pac's punches, you'll have some success against him in the ring. And since boxers wear bigger gloves and headgear, decent boxers will give Pac fits in sparring.
Izzy Vazquez used to win the toe-to-toe sparring sessions against Pac a trainer told me a few good years back. Being competitive with the big boys in sparring gives one tremendous confidence, which is cool, but sparring is a training session not a real fight.
Guerrero has something to prove by going 100%, Pac is probably in there practicing things and I seriously doubt he's going 100%. Its sparring anyways and I could easily see this happening.
most fighters go 50 percent in sparring including marquez nobody is trying to kill their sparring partner for ****s sake you think David Rodela would survive a sparring session if Pac went 100 percent on his ass. poor guy would be out on a stretcher now i dont doubt for a minute Guerrero gave Manny some trouble...ANY boxer would have trouble against a guy with good movement
Really want to see the actual footage but I'm not surprised Guerrero gave him problems. The goal in sparring for a pro fighter is to get a good feel for styles and work on your timing while taking it easy on your partner while your partner's goal is not to ko you either. It's different during an actual pro fight when your opponent's goal is to ko you or give you a beating.
