I'm not sure, but I find Fig's recent career, inactivity and surge upwards in weight surreal. I made a thread about it a few months ago.

This match is driving me crazy, Omar has zero business at WW, and Demarco had him flat out looking like he had a severe brain injury in the last 3 or 4 rounds of their match, and I'm not making a glib joke here, the look in Omar's eyes was disturbing me late in that fight, and if Demarco who isn't a WW can do that to him, can the Ghost? Robert said he plans to box like the old school Guerrero, but will he be able to resist being drawn into a war? Doubtful, he says **** like that before every recent fight, he was competitive with Thurman late, I thought the Garcia match was a draw, and I thought he deserved the win over Aron Martinez, the Peralta match I think was just an anomaly based on size and reach advantage, and Guerrero not taking him seriously enough, regardless he was competitive throughout much of the first 7 or 8 rounds of that match.

Okay so Guerrero has looked hellish recently, but? Could Figs beat Peralta, Martinez, Garcia and Thurman, hell no on the last two, the first two its a question mark.

I think a fully focued reinvigorated Guerrero will have enough to SD Figueroa, but that might just be me letting my fanboyism get the best of me.

What is your prediction about Browne vs Monaghan, Szpilka vs Kownacki and Jamal James vs Jo Jo Dan?

I'm going to get tickets to this. It's a crossroads fight for both guys even though it should only be that way for Robert, Omar has been inactive and blew his chance to be a PBC superstar.
Guerrero needs to box, not brawl. He bought into all that bull**** his dad was selling the public about Mexicans, which is a stereotyping of himself, that Mexicans are some dub bar room fighters that can take beatings. Totally ignoring the skill of JCC in his prime, Juan Manuel use of angels and combos, Young ODLH tenacity when he was afraid, Castillo, Cuevas, Zaragoza, Limon', and many great where not mindless robots taking punches like heavy bags, they had skills.
Ruben should be ashamed of himself even saying that , it's a diss to yourself and your people. Figueroa has a big chance at beating Robert silly if he comes in with that stupid mindset of a brawler. I still have not forgotten this fight-

Wow I saw that Omar was off as well. After that fight I knew he was going to take a long break.

    Some misc thoughts -

Fig's entire head and face swelled up against Demarco. That was a hard fight for him. You see guys mark up, but rarely as bad as he did there. It's in the same category as Rahman's Holyfield headbutt hematoma or whatever it was.

Also, Guerrero losing to Peralta was one of the biggest upsets of the past few years, odds wise. I believe I saw Peralta as high as +4000. Only recent fight I can think of that's close is maybe Anthony Ogogo getting thrashed.

Those matches are driving me crazy as well, this whole card is a mother****er to predict. Props to Al for making it.

I can see Dan edging James, who at this point should probably have at least 3 losses, but will they give it to Dan? That's the question, in all likelihood James will win a SD that most people will think Dan edged.

Kownacki is unproven at the top level and he's not the biggest puncher, so I lean Szpilka, I doubt Adam can hang with The Pin skillwise, Artur will probably take it by UD or late stoppage.

Which Browne is the real Browne? The one who was starting to look ragged and was beginning to fall apart vs Sierra and lucked out that Gvozdyk had ripped Sierra's face up a few weeks before, so he got a phony stoppage win and the Browne that fought Kaladzjic and lost? Or the guy that looked pretty damn good against Williams, but as we know, Williams has no heart and no chin, when he's not fighting against Stevenson, and is very susceptible to being KO'd by southpaws, so was that but an illusion? I think the real Browne from the Hot Rod fight shows up again, wilts and gets outworked and damn near stopped by Seanie in the second half, but will still manage to win a controversial SD.
