He wont make 2.5 milion anywhere else i know that much. He is in a once an a lifetime position, if he does good against floyd his name will be out there an he'll have pocketed 2.5. Foolish move if he declines

    There's more to come.

    :hat

At least Bradley earned his payday by beating B level fighters.

what is really sad is when you have to use sad stories to sell pay per view fights.

Well that's what people have to do when they are not PPV attractions. Golden Boy was using Ortiz's story about his father/mother leaving him and his brother when they were y oung to sell tickets

    Not at all. Rofl.

Guerrero is trying to price himself out of the fight, which is fine by Floyd.

    Floyd goes to someone else.

Guerrero stays making pocket change while Floyd continues to make upwards to 30 million.

At the end of the day, they both lose out in earnings. But who actually gets the shorter end of the stick?

Guerrero- Losing out on his once in a lifetime opportunity and will never make close to 2.5

    Or Floyd

Losing out on 5-10 million dollars once, and makes it again/possibly more in Sept if he fights Canelo/Pac/Martinez

Ghost and his "6 time world champion, 4 different weight classes" manipulative ass has absolutely no hold on Floyd.

Floyd simply MOVES ON and wins at the end.

he wont make 2.5 ne where else at the moment. however there are still big fights out there n if he racks up a couple wins vs other guys hes still pullin alot of money. u kno he made good money vs aydin and berto. if guerrero fights paulie, maidana, soto karass those are sum solid paydays as well.

No most casual fans are burnt out on boxing and not getting the fights they want. If a fight is going to sell well, it needs buzz, once buzz starts people remember.

People WILL remember the less that stellar match they had and not want to waste their money.

This is coming from a hardcore Mayweather fan.

It would do okay. Maybe 6-700.

No. It's not even a similar situation. Mayweather utterly dominated Marquez and made it look so easy people got bored. (The casual fan)

No. You have it the opposite way. Most hardcore fans want to see it, most casual fans dont.

He'll make around 500-600 k every fight. He'll need to fight 5 times to make what he would have made fighting Mayweather.

but ortiz was coming off that great fight and war against berto.

devon never dominated at 140 and now he gets a shot at 147?

you could make a case that ortiz's resiliance and strength could be a problem for floyd but devon does not have power, strength or the workrate to make this interesting. its going to be a boring fight. the only person that will beat a prime floyd is someone with the workrate like guerrero that can pressure and not let floyd dictate where or how the fight happens.

i would rather see floyd against jmm or even kirkland.

4 million is fair. A fight with Money Mayweather should = jackpot. And if the guy isn't worth a measly 10% of the purse, why are you even fighting him?

He's making a couple hundred thousand dollars, AT MOST, for every fight you listed. None of them are marketable. Ghost making a mistake - big time.

Ghost could earn 2.5million. Plus... if you beat Floyd... the $$ takes a very sharp incline for almost all future fights. Ghost making a mistake.

Can people really not see the connection between Floyd having trouble getting Guerrero to sign and him publicly announcing that another fighter was now the frontrunner for the fight?

    1. It will buzz and buzz resoundingly. JMM just knocked out the #2 (in some people's eyes P4P boxer in the world), Floyd's rival.

Most casual fans are burnt out by boxing yes it's true because they do not give the fans the fight they want to see. But JMM has cut into the Manny/Floyd sweepstakes and any fight with JMM/either one will sell very well especially since JMM just did what nobody has done in the last 10 years. Knock Manny out.

People are going to start to believe or think that JMM now has a shot vs Mayweather.

They realize that Floyd has deteriorated slightly and is closer to a loss than he's ever been.

Doubt it. With a decent undercard, it would do well over a million.

Pac/Marquez 4 did 1.2 (According to Bob), and that card had an atrocious undercard.

    3. Although Marquez was utterly dominated (3 years ago), he's shown us that he's a better fighter since then and people may believe that he now can stand up to Mayweather. And plus, who is really going to remember that 12-0 shutout?

Like I said before, most casual fans only remember fighters for what they did last. They do not study the history of fighters.

They would love to see JMM/Mayweather again.

I don't agree with your "Hardcore fans want to see it, casuals don't"

I'm coming from the opposite direction

Hardcore fans DON'T want to see it because hardcore fans think that the same thing is going to happen once again

Casuals want to see it because JMM is now the #2 p4p fighter in the world and has shown serious knockout power (knocking out Manny) and they believe that Floyd will meet the same fate.
