Cotto is much better in every area than Robert. Robert can't do anything better than Cotto and Cotto won 3 rounds fighting Floyd out of his weight class. Think man think. Guerrero isn't even the best southpaw Floyd had faced.:patsch. You guys are out of your mind to think this fight will be competitive. Robert is going to get destroyed :thumbsup

Timing? Guerrero was getting tagged easily vs aydin and berto so expect the best defensive fighter ever to hit hit hit hit hit and not get hit.

Just cause he isn't skilled as Floyd doesn't mean he doesn't deserve a fight. He is the #1 contender to the WBC title. What other WW not signed to top rank is a better option?

But he is the #1 contender!!!! Douglas was a 50-1 underdog and he shocked the world.

Stop trying to discredit this fight. No matter who Floyd steps in the ring with he with he will be the superior skilled fighter. He is one of the most complete fighters ever so he gets criticized because his peers aren't on his level. That's a true testament to his greatness. He's so dominant that people suggest he fight guys two weight classes above him and 20-30 lbs heavier. An extreme weight and size advantage like that is the only way to beat Mayweather. he's not even a MW and haters say he's ducking Sergio Martinez. If Mayweather was a MW with the same skill set, he would easily beat Martinez and embarrass him. Why should Mayweather have to fight a guy who's 20 lbs heavier at a weight he's never fought at to validate his greatness? We already seen Martinez at WW, he hit KO'ed by a young 1 dimensional brawler Margarito. Imagine Martinez at WW vs Floyd:deal.

Floyd is too great for his own good, the Kobe bryant of boxing. The same way they discredit kobe is the same way they do floyd. People hate on him when comparing him to past fighters because they are in denial about what they have witnessed. Never in boxing has a fighter been head and shoulders above the fighters in his era to the point that every win on his résumé is criticized. He has made fighters look silly and has easily dominated every fighter he has faced in 5 weight classes and they all praise him afterwords.

I am glad Floyd is raping the game that raped so many fighters got over 100 years. Floyd is the smartest boxer ever and the only one to control his career once he made it to ppv big time. Is it a coincidence that Oscar de la hoyas biggest ppv is vs Mayweather? Real fans and spectators know that Floyd is a once in a life time talent who is the best at his profession and displays the blue print on how to perform and approach tithe sweet science. I hope Mayweather continues to fight at 147lbs for the remainder of his career and knock off this new generation of young talent. Nobody will beat him.

This assessment is very flawed. Cotto might be more effective at what he does and u can also add his above average power and better killer instincts. But better in every area than.Guerrero? Thats completely false.

Fundamentally, Guerrero has the edge, he can hit equally as well with both hands in which Cotto can be considered a one handed fighter with his powerhand in front. Guerrero has better defense and fluid movement which is why u rarely see him badly hurt. Cottos flaws in his defense and balance are obvious. Have you ever seen Guerrero as badly hurt, rocked and on the canvas as often as Cotto? Not even close. Cotto has a good jab and left hook. Thats it.

Like Malignaggi said about the fight, Guerrero does a lot of things really well. His jab is solid, his right hook is a beautiful counter, and is left hand to the body, up top, throw it as a hook, an uppercut. Hes hurt everyone with it a different way each time. There are a number of things Guerrero does better than Cotto. Does thatcmean he'll beat Cotto or bet rhe guys Cotto beat at rhose particular times? Ofcourse not. Each fight has to be examined individually. I could go on and on. Fans dont look at the consistant lateral movement and footwork Guerrero has displayed mostly at his lighter weights but it was still there vs Aydin and Berto. Guerrero has a unique style, gifted fundmentally, a thinking fighter and able to make adjustments and is mentally strong in there which are probably his best attributes vs Floyd right now. This will be a close fight.

Paulie Malignaggi - “He has the ability to adjust more than a lot of Floyd’s other opponents,” said WBA welterweight champion and Showtime color commentator Paulie Malignaggi. “Floyd takes away what you do best, and when he’s taken away what you do best, you’re left kinda naked in front of him and he dissects you and takes you apart. Guerrero does a lot of things good, and because of that, in order to take away what he does best, you’re gonna have to take away more than one or two things. So from that perspective, it makes the fight interesting."

What top tier fighter has RG ever beat?

He looks decent vs Aydin and Berto, both who hit him easily in every round and now hes as good as Cotto?

Lateral movement? How much of guerrero have you seen? He is nothing special and will get picked apart. Blocking punches with your face isnt considered defense

“ Malignaggi stated. "Mayweather is the best fighter I’ve ever seen.”

"you know Mayweather is the best fighter on the planet, maybe the best fighter ever.""

    :huh

so If Paulie thinks Mayweather is the best fighter he has ever seen or the best ever then what chance does Robert have other than a "punchers chance"?

You said Cotto is better in every area. Which is not true. Is Guerrero better than Cotto? No but then again, nobody has really given him a chance such as Khan.or Marquez when the fight was on the table. I could see Cotto getting popped in the mouth pretty good by Bertos uppercuts as well. Cotto is very effective at what he does and maybe more so than Guerrero, but hes also a lot more vulnerable, as proven in how badly hurt he was vs guys such as Torres and Corley.

Why do u think they call him th Ghost? His ability to circle and step around an opponent is what makes him so effective. Youll rarely see him make the mistake of backing straight up. His style is very fluid from offense to defense and vice versa and thats mainly due to his upper body and lateral movement.

Hes never been seriously hurt or wobbled on the canvas. His chin has a lot to do with that but a good chin requires good balance, fluid movement, and rolling with the punches. Looks like u might need to go back and watch more of The Ghost if u wanna understand why this is.not gonna be easy for Floyd. Or like the others, just say its cuz Floyd is aged :hey
