Guess how long it takes Wladimir Klitschko to initiate a clinch tonight.

HAHA 1 second was correct yeah. but man wlad put in a vintage performance tonight, this is what happens when he's forced to fight, he should remember the taste of this victory and the credit he's getting maybe he'll start realising that this is what the fans and the sport demand from him

Wlad will continue to fight the way he has for several years now. Wlad initiated the clinch on Pulev when ever Pulev stepped in close enough to be at mid-range.

What it comes down to is that Wlad has to fight this way because there is just panic on the look at his face whenever he as much as gets grazed.
Pulev kept the fight at long distance, a bit shorter fighter than Pulev has to step closer tnat that invites the clinches of Wladimir.

If HBO got its hopes up after today that Wlad can be exciting again, they're going to find out real soon that they're dead wrong.

Wlad's clinching is now instinctive he does it without even thinking, that first clinch had no purpose. He probably clinches Hayden in his sleep without even knowing, it's so ingrained into his muscle memory now.

But he didn't need it last night. While there was still plenty of clinching it wasn't as pervasive as usual. Probably because Pulev prefers to fight at a distance and when they were in close Pulev fought dirty throwing rabbit punches making Wlad less inclined to clinch.
