A return to form with singles...the paired format seems to have coincided with a nosedive in popularity.

Not sure about answering the question, though I imagine this is likely about how David Price's individual record will look when he hangs 'em up

I'm quite proud of these last two. Sufficiently challenging for aught but true boxing nerds (while not totally obscure; they're names all the players who've taken cracks so far ought to know), but I've jam-packed more than enough in there to make them "gettable", between the COWLD values and the rich troves of hints.

Since there are TWO Danish boxers in the HOF (Battling Nelson and Kid Williams), I at first didn't think of Tom Bogs as a possible answer... but since no one else fits, I can only assume that Bogs is indeed the one you have in mind?

To be fair, I used two sources to fact-check and neither suggested that Battling Nelson didn't stand as the lone Dane in the IBHOF. (BoxRec's all-time p4p rankings filtered by nation; and the IBHOF website itself, combing the list of inductees both in the Modern & Old-Timer categories for any remotely Danish-sounding names...it didn't occur to me to check for the birthplaces of those with monikers like KW's that may have been "Anglicized", rather than just concocted for US-born fighters to increase their marketability)

He was born in Denmark but emigrated pretty young. The circumstances are similar to Jack McAuliffe, whom you'd typically see referred to as perhaps Irish-American but, while a star of the pioneering/LPR-to-MoQ transitional era, Hall of Fame inductee and consensus ATG, is rarely if ever mentioned on lists of the greatest "Irish" boxers. Gutenko (Williams) and McAuliffe both reached US soil in childhood and fought their entire careers (167 matches combined) within its borders. Conventional wisdom in classifying boxers' nationalities would dictate that both are considered "American" first and foremost. Now, in the case of Williams, he is listed as having "Danish" nationality on his Wikipedia page (yet they also cross-reference him under the index "American boxers", confusingly) - while BoxRec lists his birthplace as Cøpenhagen, but file him under "American" for nationality. He isn't cross-indexed with other Danish boxers...and I believe, correctly so. I'll readily admit error on my part (as I have in this very thread) but in this case I think my clue as it stands, the way I worded it, has a reasonable case for veracity. I said that Bogs was ranked top 5 all-time in his country (which he is verifiabley on BoxRec, among other publications and lists compiled by amateur historians and enthusiasts; I've even seen him placed as high as top 5 p4p Scandinavian all-time...) and that his country only boasted one inductee (not one native-born inductee exported to another country with an equally if not more legitimate claim to him) so far (obviously Kessler will change that come the next ballot, especially in light of the news today of him canceling his mooted comeback once & for all due to borrelia infection; plus when all is said and done Cecilia Brækhus may have a decent shot at crossing the gender line and becoming the first woman inductee, and certainly of displacing a few great Danes to become top 5 all-time p4p irrespective of genitalia in the country), which arguably is true. If the IBHOF were to itself categorize inductees by nationality, their authority would be final and their ruling on the matter would determine the standard, but alas they don't. So we have subjective opinion, and precedent of encyclopedic/academic/journalistic sources, which seems to leave it open but IMO the simplest interpretation would be that he's a Danish-American member of the Hall of Fame, and that Nelson does indeed stand alone for now as the solitary entry produced (and fully claimable) by Denmark. Semantics, but hey.

Bottom line is that I'm not officially going to retract or modify that clue retroactively, as with some other errors on my part. (like when I miscounted the draws in Pacquiao's COWLD value). It will go in posterity as guessed sans asterisk (unlike the Pacquiao guess, for which extra credit is given for seeing through Game-Maker error to guess correctly).
