How do you think Loma does against Chad Gannigan?

I feel the need also to point out, that when Loma was getting aggressive later in the fight, that Salido kept pinning Loma's lead right hand under his arm, not letting Loma use it.

Loma is almost a one handed fighter. More then anything else, that will hurt him at later stages. He has no heavy counter-shot to keep people outta his space. He uses his feet to get away instead, or holds.

I saw a dude with the arrogance to bypass the traditional fighters path to a championship fight based on his amateur pedigree. Whine about the weight all you want, he isn't the first fighter to be outweighed and he won't be the last. lomachenko's "superior boxing skills" were supposed to neutralize anything old man Salido did. Did you see all the holding Vasyl did? Did you see how confused he looked on the inside?

Right, the bigger, 33 year old shop worn fighter got tired, big surprise and Lomachenko took advantage. His amateur peck and poke style doesn't translate to the pro ranks. He can't punch, can't take it to the body, can't in fight. He is certifiable GARBAGE!!! You can have the last word bitching about the ref or the low blows or whatever, another hype job exposed. I guess Vasyl will "learn from this" just like Broner. LOL

I did notice that, as well. It'll be something he's got to work on going forward; by the time he realized he was winning the exchanges on the inside when he opened up, it was already too late. I think he gave Salido a little too much respect on the inside, and once he took some risks there, he was doing real damage.

There'll be plenty of wrinkles to iron out moving forward, and ones that could've gone ignored if he didn't face a bulldog of a fighter like Salido to expose them.

Who's bitching? I'm proud of what Lomachenko did tonight, the heart he showed, and there's no need for excuses. The future's plenty bright for Vasyl if he takes the lessons from tonight and applies them moving forward.

The better question might be, why does it bother you so much?

It doesn't bother me at all, I'm on cloud 9!!! All the hype, the unearned championship fight and a complete failure. Noooo, I'm not bothered at all pal...

Could've fooled me, what with all the animosity in a bandwagon thread. It's all good, my friend- enjoy it now. :thumbsup

Yeah, the 50+ lowblows on top of an 11 lb weight disadvantage had nothing to do with it. I will say and have always said Salido was exactly the wrong type of fighter (dirty brawler) to put an amatuer in on his 2nd pro fight. That's the main style you don't experience in the amatuers. I believed Loma had a good chance to beat Salido, but that was before I saw the weigh-in. An almost 3lb advantage on the scales turns into a 10lb rehydrated advantage. I knew it was too much to overcome for Loma once I saw that.

Of course. Well what about Loma's superior technical skill? The weight advantage is a cop out. Salido fouled, but Lomachenko held. Every fighter Rigo fights outweighs him significantly, so what's Lomachenko's excuse, except that he's not as good as advertised.

No animosity, just pure joy over watching a hyped up Euro bum get his ass handed to him by an out of shape old Mexican. Thank you, I will enjoy this until the next time he decides to bite off more than he can chew. I won't rub it in anymore though.

Feel free to- it's all in good fun. :good

I get the feeling you won't have many more opportunities to kick dirt in our collective faces too much going forward, so I encourage you to get your fill in now. :thumbsup

Using that same logic, Ie. Lomachenko being 135 on the scales to Salido's 147, how about we give the other "technically skilled boxers" a 12lbs disadvatage.

    Rigondeaux v Mikey Garcia
    Mikey Garcia v Lucas Matthysse
    Floyd v Golvokin

You think the technical skills helpt the guys on the left?
