Is it not in their interest to actually make money, at this rate World Titles won't be contested at the highest level if they have their way.

But hey I am sure they can make shitloads from having a Uruguayan famer take on a Nicaraguan Taxi Driver for the prestigious WBA Interim Title to decide who is the mandatory for the French Lorry Driver. And let's not forget the big name Ukranian Super Champion who cannot afford to make mandatory defence's. I wish HBO and Showtime would do a boycott of the WBA this is beyond ridiculous.

People can say all they like about it's the fighters rather then the titles that are of interest, but the honest truth is that Boxing needs Genuine recognised prestigious World Titles.

just see the fight for what it is. great clash of styles. fearless fighter against a great technician. two of the best fighters in the world with less than 10 fights each.

It is in their interests to make money - and by having three champions plus eliminators for two of those titles and interalphabetty belts they've got a right earner going on.

There have been plenty of good fights carrying WBA belts since their multi champ per division came in, the only biggie they missed out on was Mosley vs Mayweather.

Until fighters turn round and say ''**** this ****'' nothing will change. TV can lower the paydays for the fighters, but if they want to pay the WBA that's their perspective - and remember the WBA cut is ruled by the purses of the boxers anyway.

Personally speaking, I wouldn't see the point in calling myself a world champion when there are as many as six others calling themselves the same thing - I'd want to knock them off one by one...... but everyone is different.

Mosley still payed them a percentage and i would not be shocked if GBP picked up Mayweathers fee to keep the WBA happy.

you would of hoped something good would of come from the recession and one of them would go out of business.

The truth is when the fight comes around everyone will be talking about a world title fight, even hardcore boxing fans.

Surely there is something that can be done. Some sort of sport lobby we can approach?
