    According to Boxrec.

Jones is set to fight on-again-off-again opponent Valery Brudov on Oct. 10 in Panama.

OMFG, that's his opponent? And the WBA agrees with that??? :patsch
The man has had 3 good opponents and lost to 2 of them, rest are tomato cans and a few journeymen, and hasn't fought for 15 months himself.
    Damn the WBA sucks carrots!

    Brudov is even their mandatory.
King won a purse bid around February
and it only took him 8 month to actually stage the fight:lol:

wasnt it supposed to happen on the 2nd so this Saturday or was it pushed back? Its quite a decent card..

Once Budrov is done he´ll have to face interim beltholder Herelius next.
after that he can take another two or three years off until the WBA wants their fees since they are gracious with boxers from Panama..

FINALLY! Jones is a really good fighter, maybe the best in the division. When him and Frenkel meet, make no mistake about it. Jones will win.

But he's 38 already and hasn't been in the ring for 2 years now... Chances are we can call him Guillermo Jones jr. after the fight! :think

Before he beat the snot out of Firat Arslan he had like a 14 month lay off. He's only been legitimately beaten once and that was 8-10 years ago. I am still giving Jones the benefit of the doubt.

To those wondering why he's fighting Valery Brudov, that's Jones' mandatory.

After him Jones will probably fight Interim champ Steve Herelius.

The sad thing is even though Jones hasn't fought in the past 2 years the WBA only sanctioned an Interim title fight 2 months ago.
