Guillermo Jones v. DaVarryl Williamson ???

    Heard this rumored for the same July card that Oquendo/Toney is on.

    Guess its supposed to be held during the WBA Convention in Panama.

    Not sure about this one, Williamson was last seen getting stopped by Meehan, and Jones is a top-rated cruiser who has fought 2 in a row at Heavy...

    I think Williamson still has the edge....

    Jones would knock out Williamson. Williamson is old and has a horrible style for the aggressive, rangy Jones. I say Jones ko 8.

    Still, I'd like to see Jones stay at Cruiser and make fights there.

    Touch of Sleep is such a misnomer considering that Williamson is the one being put to sleep most of the time. I like the guy too but he's finished. I could definitely see Jones beating him.

    And what happened to Toney/Rahman II?

    Williamson has one of the best right hands in the division still, I think he can still be a top ten fighter in the heavyweight division.

    Have you seen his recent fights? Jones will be 38 by the time the fight happens, and about 35 pounds over his best weight. He's not exactly the dynamo he used to be.

    I'll go against the grain and say TOS by T/KO. Jones certainly will outwork TOS, but he's never faced anyone with this kind of power. Then again, Jones carries his power well enough to KO TOS as well.
