It was clear that Rigondeaux was a bantamweight and Loma was a featherweight. On fight night, Loma was only 8lbs bigger than Rigo, but Loma´s frame is a lot bigger.
Regardless, it´s not like Loma just walked him down or bullied him. Rigo got outboxed and schooled.

 

Loma faces the same size disadvantage at 135 than when Rigo fought him.

Difference is that Loma still dominates the divison, while Rigo did not have the skills to even come close to him. If Loma and Rigo were the same weight, Loma would always outclass him. Rigo shows that he was always overrated, and Loma proved his ATG status.

 

I don’t blame him as it was his only chance for a money fight at the lower weights. But yeah he got out skilled and out boxed.

Even if you forget about what happened in there troughout the fight, Salido had to hang on for dear life to make it out of the 12th, he got lit up once Loma figured him out, and Salido had to survive at the end.

So completely different circumstances. Rigo got schooled, dominated by a bigger guy and gave up. Loma got weightcheated, fauled and adjusted to almost getting Salido out of there by dominating the final rounds...
