I clearly wasn't being serious. He probably won't even fight them.

Yes it is. But I guess you'll just have to live with it. You are ice cold and objective in a thread made for very happy people who are very emotional therefore subjective.

That might be the case, but this guy isnt like Gamboa/Solis etc....he's a level above IMO.

The other Cuban prospects have obvious flaws..

    Barthelemy.. no power..

    Solis.. no determination or heart..

Gamboa.. I love the guy.. he has all the talent in the world, but defense still needs work.. hittable.. hands too low.. too careless and full of himself sometimes.. chin might be a question..

Rigondeaux, from what I've seen, is the complete package. He's not only a physically-gifted fighter, but he has all the techical aspects down as well. Defense, footwork, timing, use of feints, head movement, counters, the guy has it all in his arsenal.

    great news.

always been a big shame that the cubans can't go pro.

    they got so much talent.

:yikes OMFG I just read the news and I can't believe this sh*t!!!
I'm very excited and shocked at the same time!:yikes

Two things are on my mind: How the hell did this guy manage to escape (again) and how will he look as a pro?!
We should take notice of his slightly advanced age for the weightclass he boxes in.

NB.: Fidel will probably feel quite bad when Guillermo, a product of Castro's great Cuban sport system, will be ''used'' and ''exploited'' by Öner.

I can't wait for his debut; he looks better than Gamboa. This will be a good time for boxing.

Great news for boxing! i just watch a couple of clip of him and he seems very complete to me! looking forward to watch him fight !

and for me its very normal to be exited when a 2 times gold medalist decide to turn pro!
i understand its not the same game but you still need to be a hell o a boxer to achieve what he did!
