Guillermo Rigondeaux in Miami!!!!!!!!!!!!

I said it first! Everyone will start comparing him to Floyd Mayweather once they see him fight!

 

So does this mean we might see Rigondeaux/Darchinyan in the future?

 

If he can translate his boxing ability to the professional ranks he can be champ at 118 in 2 years. That's how good this guys skills are. Like someone said it is all about how his chin holds up and how much heart he has at the championship level.

Maybe. But not for the titles. Darchinyan won't have them anymore. Darchinyan doesn't have much staying power IMO. By the time Rigondeaux starts fighting contenders, Darchinyan will have been exposed again like he did against Donaire and will be relegated to gatekeeper status. If they fight, Vic will be Rigondeaux's launching pad to a title fight, not the title fight itself.

I know it's absurd to predict that a fighter who hasn't had one pro fight yet would beat the undisputed champ of the division... but that's what I'm predicting! If/when they do fight, Rigondeaux will destroy him worse than Donaire did. He has all the skills to make Vic look like an amateur.

 

Exactly. The insane overrating that goes on with these amateur prospects is just way out of hand. Boxing history is RIDDLED with great amateur fighters who BOMBED as pros.
