    Yeah I think so. But I don't think people believe it's really a risk as you say. You're taking away from Rigo's pedigree by saying that.

    I'm a big fan of Rigo and I definitely don't mean he's not ready and/or in Nonito's league.

    What I mean is that with Rigo's talent he could defend his title many times, earn plenty of money in the proces (along with his manager/promoter obviously) and later still get a huge megafight for much much more money. Why rush things?

    On the other hand, looking at Rigo's age, now is maybe the right time.

    Rigondeaux is way better than Whitaker, that's a no brainer right there.

    Whitaker has always been overrated and when he fought anybody good he lost. Not to mention he got knocked out by the horrible Carlos Bojorquez who had a record of 26-10-6.

    Whitaker never fought anyone good?

    how 'bout outclassing Azumah Nelson, Jose Luiz Ramirez and Julio Cesar Chavez (that draw was total ****in' bull****), Buddy Mcgirt, Roger Mayweather... come on now.

    It's because Cuba doesn't allow its athletes to turn pro unless they defect from there. Rigondeaux would have turned pro after his first gold medal and would be somewhere around 30-0 instead of the 11-0.

    Rigondeaux is in his prime right now and he needs this fight to make himself more well-known in the boxing world. If he can beat Donaire, his popularity will sky rocket.

    Wow, another person in the boxing world believes Rigondeaux's the greatest boxer ever. Also Freddie Roach says he's the greatest counter puncher ever and probably the greatest talent ever over Pacquiao.
