I'm not really impressed with any of these Cubans who have burst onto the scene in the last year.

Not impressed by Gamboa? Lara? Rigondeaux?
When does a fighter impress you then?:huh:blood

I suppose we have 2 kinds of fans: people who like exciting action (Gamboa) and people who like technical boxing (Lara (although he is quite exciting as well).
So I wonder, are you biased?

I just think they are all very flawed and it's only a matter of time before they take a loss or two, or three.

    Maybe you expect too much(?).

What flaws do you see in Lara that a prospect of 7 fights usually doesn't have?

Gamboa fights very risky but with that same style he won his amateur titles including his Olympic medal. Hands low, fast reflexes, an speed. Someone could tag him soon or later, true. But he still impresses with his speed, talent and overall rawness I think.

As for Rigondeaux, I think and hope he'll start impressing us soon. A little too early to say now maybe because he had a 2,5 year long layoff. He's obviously talented but we have to see how well he is able to adjust to the pro game.

I think this guy has a great future in boxing, very relax and precise landing his shots. Head or to the body. Could do very well and is slowly becoming one of my favorites to watch.

Dude, Gamboa HAS been getting tagged...and it's all because he keeps his hands low and has no regard for what's coming back at him. It's only a matter of time before that cavalier attitude costs him a fight. That's the major problem I see in all of them....they are all still fighting like they are in the amateurs. I don't think they are going to make it to any kind of elite status because they haven't changed their styles up enough.

I was at Planet Hollywood for FNF. I was most impressed by Rigondeaux, he looked an awesome prospect, however I did not realise he was 28, hopefully he'll move along quickly enough. I wasn't very impressed by Lara, he should've stepped on it and got his guy out of there but instead it turned into a good fight by the end. He didn't look the same class as the likes of Rigondeaux and Gamboa but then that's no shame.
Prescott looked awful, has potential but needs to throw straighter punches and fight better going backwards.
I also chatted to Kenny Bayliss for a minute whilst he was walking around after the first fight and I was very surprised that he had any time for me, couldn't have met a nicer fella.
I got a pic with Prescott at the weigh in, I'll try and get it up...

is from elnuevoherald bro and he is going for an international title i know it dun mean anything but hopefully that will put him up in the 122 rankings, apperently decubas said he wants to find a much tougher opponent. i think it will be in the same place where they had the rigo debut
