it comes from mastering head and upper body movement. from mastering footwork, angles and bending them damn knees. rigon being athletic is a plus but not the main reason. who is the better athlete hopkins, pascal, cloud or dawson, i tell you its not hopkins but i can assure you he is the slicker fighter then all of them combined and also not as athletic as they are. rigon is a grandmaster when it comes to boxing and im not talking speed and power. im talking skill and ring iq ! the fundamentals most dont talk about. its all about whos bigger, faster and stronger :-( nonito had 20 pds on rigon, fast , strong , taller , reach . he had everything you could want in advantage except the one that really counts SKILLS. you guys learn one day i guess.
anyone can come up with extreme counterexamples, but its a fact that head and upper body movement, reflexes are all ATHLETIC traits. Jones would show slickness in spurts. no one mentioned size being a factor atsch
yea good example jones jr was as athletic as them all. was he slick or just athletic and what about khan as well. i said being athletic is plus if you master that style but its not a giving. like oh, im good athlete im slick. just saying it dont work that way its never worked that way.
it looks like you mistook my original statement as athletic -->slick when its the other way around; if its given that you are slick then that means you have the athleticism (and knowledge, practice) to pull it off marquez knows how to move his head but no one calls him slick; they refer to him simply as a technician
Rigo is the definition of pure, slickness. Ward is more a combination of skill, athleticism and determination.
