That's what I thought. Instead of going for the best, we might see him chase a guy who just won't fight anybody (Santa Cruz) or a domestic showdown against a minor titlist (Quigg).

...which puts your clams into the trolling area.

No chance is LSC fighting any of them, he is challenging Quillin for the most shameless coward in boxing instead of fighting.

I think Frampton beats Quigg quite comfortably and I rate Quigg. Rigo hasn't looked great at times but I'm sure he has been trying to fight more entertainingly, looking vulnerable to get a fight, expect him to be bback on top form if he fights Frampton.

Not in my opinion, I think Rigondeaux is a bit too good for him.

 

Of course you can be entitled to your opinion. It just looks like looking down at Rigo and when the fight is actually mentioned, you instantly bring up the other guys. I'm not saying that that Rigo definitely beats him either, because I didn't see much of Frampton, but all this "hype" about Frampton is okay in my opinion as long as Rigo isn't discredited, which is what seems to be happening here.

If Framtpon knocks Rigo out like you say, then push for the fight instead of bringing the roadblocks when the fight is actually mentioned.

Also, yes, LCS and Quigg are the top guys behind Rigo and Frampton, but the key thing is behind. If you have an opportunity to fight the undisputed best next, you go for it right away. Everything else is calculating and not going straight for the top.

If Frampton is the guy to beat Rigo, bring him on and see what happens!

 

I am glad that Frampton is more keen to mention Rigo in his interviews than Santa Cruz. But as for the fight itself, I don't think it will be competitive, but I definately want to see Rigondeaux in action with somebody like Frampton.

p.s. Rigo being dropped several times is not such an indicator like some of folks think

 

Ok fair enough. It just doesn't look right to downplay such an accomplished guy because some new threat has arrived (as far as the rational debate is concerned).

And Rigondeaux is the undisputed number one. I'm not sure that any of the current 3 contenders were actually inside the top 3 when Rigo won his crown. And for Frampton (or anyone else) to be considered the best, he's required to defeat Rigondeaux because Rigo is the king right now.

 

Rigo schools him, Frampton has huge reach disadvantage and he aint even faster than Rigo and we know who has much better footwork. Every time Frampton even dreams of getting in punching range he will be hit hard...he maybe wins 3 rounds tops! I know after decent win fans always go overboard but after you calm down watch it again, he is good dont get me wrong but not even close to Rigo level...

 

Sure all he needs is to come close enough with that short hands of his he will eat few hard left hands and than forget about his killer instinct like Donaire did...
He has nothing to beat Rigo thats why you say he will KO Rigo cause you dont see quality in his skills for win over Rigo, but keep up being optimistic :good

Yes, you're right, but it's not exactly Rigondeaux' fault that those guys haven't fought him. If you don't even try to take the king's crown, then he's still the king. However, if the king is running away and surrendering, that's another case, but that's not what's happening here.

Also, having an opportunity to choose between #1 and #2 and going for the #2 is not fighting the best. It's called taking an easy route.

I do think that Frampton is the best challenger for Rigo right now, but if you want to claim Frampton being better than Rigo, then it is only right to push for the Rigo fight and not switch the tune and talk from his management's perspective.

After all, it is Rigondeaux who won countless golds and conquered the division and not some Santa Cruz, Frampton or Quigg.
