Before this fight was seen as a whitewash for Rigo, but after Rigo struggled against the size and aggression of Amagasa, a Santa Cruz fight, may be seen differently now.

    What do yall think?

    Guillermo Rigondeaux 15(10)-0
    5'4
    68' reach
    34 years old

    Leo Santa Cruz 28(16)-0-1
    5'7
    69' reach
    26 years old

Leo Santa Cruz shatters compubox records with his volume for current fighters. For 2012, Leo averaged 99 punches thrown/35 landed per round in his five wins in 2012. He topped out with 1350 thrown (113 per round) in his twelve round decision win (6/2/12) over Vusi Malinga.

But Rigondeaux is great at lowering his opponent's punch output with his control of distance, ring genralship, counterpunching and power.

    What do yall think :bbb

Rigo struggled with motivation and had a 6 week training camp for Amagasa..and yet he still lost 1 round...

Rigo by very wide decision. Santa Cruz will be made look very ordinary against him. He might knock Rigo down but that's as good as it gets. Only Frampton and Loma have a chance at beating Rigo and even at that, its a slim chance

Even before that fight I always thought LSC has the perfect style to beat Rigo now even more.

Leo Santa Cruz has a very good chance of beating Rigondeaux (based strictly on styles and size).

    HOWEVER!

Leah Sandra Cruz will duck Rigondeaux.

My opinion hasn't changed, which was this: Al Haymon still will not let Mexican plodder Santa Cruz nowhere near glass chinned Rigondeaux.

I think the only thing that changed is that the Amagasa fight reinforced for me how Rigo's chin is suspect. I think that he still outboxes LSC and succeeds in lowering his output. However LSC (and any potential opponent) can take additional heart from the fact that Rigo can be dropped if hit: and not just from big punchers like Donaire.

As I said before and I'll say agan I think Santa Cruz has a style to beat the almighty Rigo, perhaps brutally, he may have few broken facial bones along the way.

I think Rigo would have done too much Damage to Santa Cruz by the 10th round and it would be stopped similary to this one. In saying that IF Santa Cruz can land clean early in a round a victory for LSC would not surprise me but sticking to a RIGO TKO by way of constant damage to LSC.

Much like Pacquiao v Mayweather (with Khan v Brook) the real fight for supremacy in the division is not between these two overrated pufter boys, it takes place in the Mecca of Boxing- the UK, between Frampton and Quigg. :deal

I keep thinking about that 114-113 score for Rigo against Donaire in a fight where Rigo arguably won every round outside of the KD. Defensive fighters not named Mayweather don’t get an easy time on the cards.
