How do you think El Chacal would do against these 3 monsters at Super Bantamweight? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5CoZTUyZeE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I39PkIgRZIw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Upua67GMPSY
Fenech could of been a stylistic nightmare for Rigo.60/40 Rigo Canizales you don't get more technical than him. Just as brilliant as Rigo only with power in both hands. 50\50 fight, but I think I'd favor Canizales. Long range or short range Canizales was equally dangerous, while Rigo is questionable at close range. Gomez tho not as technical as Orlando was a pure boxer puncher with speed and power to match Rigo. He might get floored, but Gomez was too good at 122. You can see even Zarate who lost to Wilfredo had alot of high quality boxing too tho he was a ko artist. Rigo might be as skillful, but I dont think he's as proven yet. I dont think hes not on Zarates or Morales level, much less a Gomez or Canizales.
Jeff Fenech is one of my favourite fighters but Rogondeax would ud him. Fenech was a brilliant pressure fighter but I think even he would struggle to tag Rigo enough to slow him down.
Really curious to see how he handles against Morales, Barrera, Rafa Marquez, Vazquez, and Hamed. I think it's a shame that Rigondeaux is being poorly managed at this stage of his career. He really is one of the best boxing talents but he's already 34...
Lol. Maybe amateur, but not professional. He has less than 15 fights!!!! Willie Pep had over 200 fights.
Rigo is overrated by the morons here. Other than a win over a shot Donaire, the guy has been feasting on bums. Agbeko? Koigym? What utter jokes of opponents. The only win on his resume of note is Donaire. Frampton sparks him. I've long suspected that Rigo is hiding some china beneath his whiskers since he got put down by a bum in Cordoba and hurt badly by another bum in Roberto Mannequin. It's an excellent boxer, don't get me wrong. But he's not even the best in his division. Frampton and Santa Cruz both beat him. Frampton by brutal KO.
You see, there is a contradiction right there. If limited boxers like Frampton and Santa Cruz could "spark" Rigondeaux, then he wouldn't be an excellent boxer. However, in reality, neither of those guys are likely to cause Rigo some major problems, much less to defeat him. The "who did he beat!?" phrase has became a standard pattern here if you are looking for a way to discredit certain boxer somehow. If we are going by that 'logic' (not much to do with the actual logic), who did Rigo beat before Donaire? He was supposed to lose that fight because Donaire was somewhat proven in the pro ranks, right? The bottom line is that it's the skills what matters and Rigo is on a level above Frampton, Santa Cruz, Donaire, Quigg, Martinez and everybody else in the division. Last time I've checked, Frampton's management said that they don't want to fight Rigo because "he brings no money and TV" (unlike international superstars like Hugo Cazares and Kiko Martinez?), which in other words means that they are aware that their guy's chances of defeating Rigondeaux are very small. Frampton is just another day in the office for Rigo.
Hard to say right now, Rigo's career is still on going and we haven't even seen him against an offensive fighter on the level of an Izzy or Rafa, let alone three of the very best in Gomez, Fenech and Canizales. Right now I'd favour all three over him. Fenech is a bad stylistic match up, relentless pressure with a great gas tank, power and chin spell doom for Rigo. Gomez and Orlando are two of the best boxer-punchers around these divisions. Both have some of the best offensive arsenals you can find, combination punching, the ability to blend offense and defence perfectly with beautiful footwork combined. Although the possibility of Wilfredo getting dropped is there, and Orlando did have his lackadaisical moments that could cost him if it went to a decision, I'd still go with the more well rounded fighters in Gomez and Canizales on this one.
I disagree, in fact I'd say a peak Gomez was simply better than Orlando in almost every single way. Not to mention Wilfredo had the killer instinct that Canizales sorely lacked. Do yourself a favour and actually watch these fighters before commenting.
Steady on there Chief. What's all this about Frampton bring a limited boxer? Hardly true or fair is it? Frampton is a VERY comprehensively skilled boxer..a fact which is plainly obvious to anyone knowledgeable enough to see it! Come on!
You didn't seem to notice the poster bashing Rigo and saying that Frampton sparks him by a brutal KO, yet are quick to jump in and defend Frampton. In comparison to Rigondeaux, Frampton is limited, and that will be shown in their fight if it ever happens. He is skilled, but he is not on Rigo's level. If Frampton's people say that the biggest fight of his career "brings no money and TV", then you know what they think of their chances in that fight.
