I love old Bernard but this is the end for him.

 

I had Hopkins edge the first round ever so slightly (the big right hand at the beginning was the cleanest punch of the round it seemed), with Dawson taking the second by a hair on a few landed jabs.

Rewatching this fight, I have absolutely no idea why everybody said Hopkins looked uncomfortable and that Dawson was setting a blistering pace. He looked fine in there.

 

**** this i need a compu box i dont remember any power shots landed at all. just moving and some blocking and then scoop slam. 1st rd was a feel out rd and you have to take the title from hopkins, neither man did **** so that rd goes to hopkins because he the champ and he gets the close rd.he really gets a close rd when the other fighter aint doing ****.hopkins wins 1st rd and then wins 2nd rd for the foul.hopkins wins 1st fight, no bllest in my head.

 

Dawson was winning. I'm dying to see the rematch. I like and respect Hopkins as a fighter, but I also wouldn't mind seeing somebody comprehensively outbox him and shut him up

 

Nothing happened. But Dawson edges it for being the aggressor.

(I've only watched the fight twice, though. And I remember thinking Hopkins may have got a knockdown in one of the rounds. Can't remember exactly what happened, but I think it may have been a lead right with a sort of push that knocked Dawson off balance).
