There is no film of Smith in the ring for a real fight, only in sparring and his stance/style for his time was a little odd. In his time he was tall, had a solid punch, and good durability. Smith was probably one of the top 2-3 in the world for a brief window of time and better than most of Johnson title opponents. However, Holyfield had far more skills and was also very durable. This one would not be close.
Smith was kod by Harry Greb hardly a middleweight Ernie Shavers!Floored by super middle Carpentier, kod by Jim Coffey and ko'd in total 12 times.I think you are overestimating his durability!
Are you trying to copy my style He also went the distance beating some good punchers like Langford, Willard and Moran. From 1909-1915 he was stopped what, 5 times in 86 fights? You looking at his past his prime, I'm talking about him in his best years. Smith was not a defensive fighter.
