Gunna watch Calzaghe v Hopkins

again.. ye im gunna torture myself & score it.. see if it's as bad as I remember

 

20 seconds in & Hopkins is headbutting

 

Jc down but not hurt, Keller man talking **** already lol

Hopkins round because of the KD, nice couple of counters by bhop but Calzaghe taking centre ring & feeling him out

 

Messy first minute already, hopkins gameplan is clearly to slow the pace & not let him find a rythmn, both landing couple of nice counters but Calzaghe forcing the pace

Hopkins diving in a lot & feigns the first low blow lol messy round but Calzaghe took it

 

Calzaghe jabbing more & Hopkins countering well.. cagey fker Hopkins.. Jc trying to up the pace & swarm him..

Close but I'll go 2 rounds to 1 bhop

 

Jc upping the volume, Hopkins getting dirty, Calzaghe getting cocky.. clear Calzaghe round tho..

Kellerman still talking **** & cucking for Hopkins Calzaghe looking comfortable now, working well, Hopkins losing his balance a lot & diving in still.. Calzaghe isn't budging from centre ring.. Hopkins just looking to counter but struggling now.. Calzaghe round again..

It's not quite as bad as I thought but both look quite sloppy at times..

 

Hopkins is looking lost right now, Calzaghe is controlling it.. pressure.. bullying him..

The pattern is set, Calzaghe in his rhythm & Hopkins looking for the odd counter, but overall he's getting worked.. the jab & the straight left & the odd flurry from Calzaghe takes another round but Hopkins clips him at the end & Jc stumbles a bit but it's more a balance issue..

It's really NOT close! It's just messy..

 

Closer round, messy again, best shot landed by Calzaghe, nice straight left.. overall I'd edge it Calzaghe , setting the tempo & walking him down but wouldn't grumble either way

Nice straight lefts landed by Jc, Hopkins lunging a lot & looking out of ideas, backing off all night long.. quite surprised how one sided it is on viewing it years later.. never saw him bullied like this, Calzaghe really had underrated physicality

He's solved the riddle of Hopkins here.. it's not pretty or a war but it's a decent performance by joe, forgot this bit.. Calzaghe just bummed him & Hopkins flops to the floor .. it's a fking cake walk this.. wot was all this fuss about a robbery? hopkins feigning another low blow lol he's milking it too.. this is hilarious ha ha ha he's acting like he just got gang raped .. he takes about a minute off.. Calzaghes got his number & Hopkins knows it.. then Hopkins lands a nice right after all the amateur dramatics.. the breather has helped him lol but I almost don't want to give him it for the bitching out earlier but I'll give him that one

Hopkins having the better of the first half, but Calzaghe comes back in the second & Hopkins is down again from a non existent low blow lol might actually have been a body shot! Even Cortez is sick of Hopkins now .. they go at it, Calzaghe gets the better of it..
