How does he do? Ruhlin likely peaked in his second fight with Sharkey which was when Corbett began helping him train and sharpen up his fundamentals.

Gus was 6’2 200 pounds, how well would he do in other eras? Could he have still been in the title pictures in the 10s-50s, maybe even afterward?,

Definitely a contender in the 1910's, only the top black fighters were clearly superior, Moran, Smith, Pelkey, Coffey, Levinsky would be around his standard, in the 20's outside of Tunney, Wills, Dempsey, Sharkey maybe Gibbons etc he would slot into the next tier.

I think that he might have done very well in the earlier eras of gloved boxing, though I doubt that he is champion in any.

He is big enough on paper, to do OK until there is a cruiserweight division for him.

So how does he do in later eras?

    Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Hard to say really, but no reason why he couldn't be in the mix, for a while after his actual career.

Do you think he could hang at the top like Sharkey did, and for that long?
