What a guy....left it all in the ring, gave 110% never held back took risks and then after it was a true gentleman. Bloodied face, drenched with sweat....dude is a beast!!! Some guys play safe but not Gus. True champions are the ones that leave nothing behind. I'm not claiming robbery I need to rewatch the fight but it was close. Unquestionably Gus took rounds 1 + 2. It all hinged really on who took round 3 imo. If Dana White wants any respect from us fans he better start giving Gus his dues. Dudes earned it regardless of whether there's a gold strap around his waist or not. I always rated Gustafsson as the no:2 LHW. But I didn't realise he was this good, i thought the gap between 1 & 2 was a little wider - clearly iy's not, clearly it's razor thin. Mad mad props Gus! Great fight!!!!!!
I gave #4 to Gus. As a boxing fan 1st I find it curious how a guy can completely dominate a round but lose it on one late strike that never even put him down, but they must have all scored it for Jones.
Gus will smash Jones in the rematch with all the confidence he gained that night. Jones can't learn how to box in only 4 months.
Gustafson and Jones were awesome last night...I was so surprised at Gus taking the shots he took...and his boxing ability, and scoring on Jones, despite those leg kicks. Gus proved he is right there!!! Great great fight...
dont forget to give jones props. he always kept stalking, even when he was getting punched by one of the biggest hitters at 205. anyway, gustafsson surprised me. i thought jones was gonna beat him easily. his takedown defense and offense was awesome. i cant see anyone at 205 beating gustafsson outside of jones.
