I know next to nothing about this guy, and he only fought out of Europe all of... what... twice... But his records pretty amazing. 88-2! http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=028407 Definitely didn't lose to losers either. Anyone know anything about this guy?
If memory serves, R. "Bubi" Scholz was a helluva middleweight in the '50s -- a beloved figure in Germany. Many years later, I remember reading, he was accused of a murder. Don't remember the disposition of the case.
Gustav Scholz was a counter-fighter and boxed in a southpaw stance. He lost on points against Harold Johnson in a fight for the world lightheavyweight championship (Scholz was too passive on that evening).
