Gustavo Daniel Lemos born 3/24/1996 is a Light Welterweight with a 27-0 17 KO's record. Born in and fighting out of Tres Arroyos, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Alright, upfront, I don't know a damn thing about Lemos or his history, like many Argentine fighters, there's little record of an amateur career, or sometimes even if they have one at all. Many of the fighters down there come up the hard way, get thrown in the deep end, and it's either sink or swim, which is why so many of them pick up several early losses. Well thankfully for Lemos, he came out swinging and hasn't stopped since. He's learned on the job quite well, and seems to be quite adept at picking up on all the little much needed nuances that allude many fighters. He's a good all rounder, his footwork and footspeed is solid, his jab is solid, his backfoot and frontfoot game is solid, his hand speed is solid, his defense while not rock solid, is solid enough, his chin when tested is solid, his aggression is effective and solid, the pace his sets and his stamina is solid, his combination punching is very solid, and his power is thudding and yes... solid. While I may have overused the term, solid is the perfect way to describe him, he's pretty damn good at all of the fundamentals and while seemingly basic, he possesses a few intangibles that might put him a cut above your average Argentine. So while he may get found out at the top level, it wouldn't shock me, he does have several potential upsets awaiting him in the future. So be warned and be prepared, when some ranked fighters takes him on in the future in a match many will say is a cherry pick, the reality is, it might well be a banana peel. Poor Lee Selby, he's about a month out from getting the beating of a lifetime at the hands of Lemos. It's going to make what Warrington did to him look like a quiet Sunday stroll through the park.

Yeah, poor Lee was doomed from the moment he signed on the dotted line. Lemos stylistically would have destroyed him in his prime as well. But this version of Lee had no chance at all. Not sure what he was thinking quite frankly. Maybe he just assumed Lemos was a bummy fighter, and he adn his team didn't properly vet him. Had they seen tape, I'm sure he'd have had the same realization as you did... in seconds.
