Lemos danced between 135 and 140lbs, is undefeated at 28-0, in his absolute prime at 27, is coming off a career's best win over an (admittedly busted) Lee Selby, world ranked, and absolute silence. Not a clue where he is or what he is doing, google has nothing and he has no fight in the works. 13 months of inactivity after keeping relatively busy even during COVID-19.

    Anyone got a clue?

He might be just biding his time.

Kambosos will likely fight Maxi Hughes for the IBF no2 spot and George seems pretty confident Haney won't stay around 135 for much longer.
Meaning Lemosnickett vs the winner of Hughes vs Kambo could very well be for the vacant title in the near future.

I dont know about this specific case, but this sort of thing is killing boxing. Fighters having year plus layoffs between fights is becoming increasingly normalised. Even now, we have numerous top level boxers who haven't fought this year and have no fights scheduled. No wonder youtube boxing is taking off, boxers aren't fighting enough to build followings of their own and sustain interest.

    Yes, it's not untypical.

He got himself to IBF mandatory position, but with undisputed champion it takes a while before it can be ordered. I believe governing bodies now have a deal where They "rotate" mandatories, to avoid having titles fragmented, at least that's how it works with Heavyweights - So each body has it's turn.
IBF also has a rule - I believe - where You're not allowed to even take a fight as a mandatory, or your risk losing that position. You need to make a special request for it to be allowed. Lemos apparently chosed to not take any risk and wait for his shot, which will in all likelyhood be couple times his biggest payday and also opportunity for promoter to make some buck back for their investment in him.

Jack Catterall was similar case. He became mandatory with WBO after win over Ohara in 2018. He had 3 fights against lower-level opponent since to stay busy, but He also wasn't taking any risk. He eventually got his shot at Josh Taylor 3 years later.
Brook was playing that kind of waiting game for a while also, Hrgovic is sitting on his number 1 position now as well.

He's back ladies and gentlemen! Maybe!! Possibly, could be, on the 19th of August, at no named venue, in no known country, Daniel Lemos is scheduled to meet the dreaded TBA.

TBA, no-one, nobody, Outis. "The baddest mother****er of them all" according to Nick Tosches.

That 8/19 slot has been moved up to 8/18 and Lemos will be facing a no hoper, in 30-10-2 Javier Jose Clavero.

Pulled for missing weight. The MIA Gustavo Daniel Lemos saga continues.

Lemos was pulled from his fight with Javier Clavero after he arrived eight pounds over the contracted limit and was unable to comply with a post-weigh-in agreement to weigh 140 pounds.

Disappointing stuff. I was hoping this guy was the next Argentinian to make a big splash, even if he was never going to reach the heights of a Santos Laciar or the like I certainly didn't think he'd blow weight THAT bad and then get dispatched of so easily in a make or break night for his career.
