Yes and no. If it had been mid round, I would have said good stoppage. But since there was only a few seconds left, I'd say it was somewhat premature. Either way, what a ****ing fight. Both fighters stock went up tonight, win or lose, imo.

 

Gutierrez was getting battered in that last minute.. He would've lost anyways.. He hadn't looked good since the 1st or 2nd round..

 

The referee did not have the luxury of knowing the time as the signal for 10 seconds left had not been given. I agree with the stoppage, though an argument could be made that it was premature.

 

Stop complaining, it was a good stoppage and a great fight.:deal

Any time you can say "there were points earlier than the actual stoppage that it should have been stopped" - such as this - you can't complain too much. All that means is the guy's been taking more punishment since it should have been stopped. At that point it doesn't matter whether it's an appropriate moment or not.
