Gutted For Josh Taylor...

Surely you should be gutted for Catterall???

Josh used up a get out of jail free card, hard to see how anyone can be gutted for him getting the nod!

 

Josh blamed his performance on making 140 and says that’s his last fight at 140.

He was dead at the weight.

He really got out of jail thanks to characteristic hometown cooking on judges cards.

This shouldn’t be a surprise to any of us as it happens at all levels of the sport every week.

There is no real will in the sport to clean itself up

 

I think it was daylight robbery to give that decision to Taylor and I’m a fan of his!

Catterall won at least 4 of the opening 6 rounds, maybe all 6, I’m struggling to give Taylor anything but a share of the other 2. Then there was a 10-8 round to Catterall from a legitimate knockdown from a punch, anyone suggesting it was a push is just biased.

Taylor came on stronger in the last 4 rounds but there wasn’t any round winning work or defining punches that won him any more than a couple of those rounds, 3 at the most.

I had Catterall winning by 3 points at worst and maybe 5 depending on how you judged the closer rounds.

The judge that gave JT the fight by 3 clear rounds needs dropping and investigating.

 

Taylor looked awful, and clearly lost. Absolutely no surprise that he got the decision regardless though.

I don't doubt there are legit reasons why he didn't perform like the Taylor of old… & One of those reasons is Jack Catterall is really ****ing good too… that was a plain as day robbery there is no way you can score that for Taylor.. he lost.. his time at 140 is clearly up but that shouldn't take away from what Jack did.. Taylor is elite, his career has earned him that moniker , judging him off this one last fight at light welterweight isn't very balanced is it… yes he lost but I also think he'll fill out into an excellent welterweight if he eases himself into it .. I'd prefer a rematch but Josh has clearly shot his wad at that weight now.. Caterall will be a world champion I have no doubt going forward .. he's just demonstrated that he belongs.. his stock will go through the roof now.. those judges should be struck off!

 

Worst performance of his 19 fight career. When i seen Taylor at the weigh in he looked too drained....and it showed in the ring last night!! No way will he fight at 140 again. Catterall can rightly feel he should be waking up with those belts this morning...and im a huge Josh fan from Scotland

 

Can’t say I’m surprised, many fighters have had a bad night and receive a gift decision in their favor. Just shows that Taylor does indeed have his flaws and he’s not unbeatable. He’ll probably look back and try and correct those flaws. Still frustrating to see Cattaral be a recipient of poor judging.
