Golovkin v Froch might be big PPV in Europe but I don't think it's one here in the USA. The USA knows Froch ain't nothing but wind after Ward deflated Carl's hype. Heck, even Andre Dirrell beat Froch in many eyes.

That isn't PPV in the States. It wouldn't sell. See no reason it can't be regular HBO in the States but PPV in the UK. They have done this several times in the past. Sounds like Hearn is using this as an excuse to duck GGG.

American boxing fans are not as gullible as the UK fans are. We are not going to buy crap fights on PPV like they will.

It wouldn't do 100k buys in the States. Nobody is stopping it from being PPV in the UK.

 

Pascal has never been stopped and Johnson has only been stopped twice, once by an ATG and even then was stopped on his feet and against a hard hitting cruiser weight at the age of 45. Not being able to stop Johnson or Pascal is hardly a good way to asses a fighters true power.

Yes Golovkin may never have been down or even possibly hurt before but he's never fought at 168lbs before in a pro fight and even if you do have an iron chin you can't just walk into shots like he does, Froch being dropped by Groves proves that even the sturdiest of chin can be hurt if caught with the right punch. Had it been Froch hitting Golovkin instead of Geale with the right hand just before the KO it may have been a very different result.

As for the fight it may very well not be PPV on HBO. Golovkin is not yet a PPV fighter and Froch for all his success is not a big draw in the US. It would be a PPV fight in the UK but it maybe a hard sell to US fans especially when you consider how poorly recent PPV numbers have been.

It's a shame, Froch/Golovkin would be a great fight, guaranteed to have drama and fireworks. It could be this generations Benn/McClellan with a veteran puncher known for his heart and desire against a rising star with a fearsome reputation as a puncher from a lower division but hopefully without the tragic ending.

 

Why are people suprised? Froch just got paid $20mill for his last fight, he'll want better than $4-5mill to fight Golovkin and Loeffler's stated that for Golovkin to move up to 168 they'll demand $2mill atleast. HBO's not putting up $6-7mill for a non-ppv fight.

And the same scenario goes for other GGG opponents: Cotto, Chavez, Alvarez, Ward, and Kessler. Kessler's team said they would need $4mill in order to fight Golovkin this fall.

I think Golovkin/HBO could get Quillin in the ring for $1mill which would be a wise investment to building his name more. Soliman, despite having a title would actually be a step backwards from Geale. Not to mention after beating Soliman he'd have to fight the winner of Stevens/N'Dam.

Have Golovkin fight Quillin, with Soliman/Korobov on the undercard, then let Korobov/Soliman winner fight the winner of N'Dam/Stevens to earn a unification against Golovkin. In the meantime it's looking like Rubio and Macklin will be on a collision course for the WBC title.

Golovkin vs Chavez jr, Golovkin gives jr. a beating referee stops the fight.

Golovkin vs Froch, this is a 50/50 fight great fight to be made.

Golovkin vs Ward, Ward beats Golovkin in an ugly, boring fight UD, this is the reason why the 1 fight Golovkin won't take is the 1 guy who will fight him.
